SCHOOL INFORMATION PRINCIPAL’S REPORT Well, we are one week into the full return of students to school and things have gone fairly smoothly.

Many of our families celebrated Eid last week so it took a couple of extra days to get everyone back on board and I suspect by this week, all students will be back. I trust those of you who were celebrating had a joyous time even though it may have been quite different to the usu-al celebrations.

Thank you all for your support of the students with their learning over the past couple of months; we know it has been very challenging for families and school staff alike.

I had the opportunity to talk with several families in an online forum last Wednesday night. A recap of what I talked about is below for your information:

• Hygiene: In all classrooms we have soap dispensers, anti bacterial wipes, paper towels and sanitiser for student and staff use;

• Additional cleaning is occurring daily. We have our usual cleaning, 25% extra on top of this time and an additional 4hrs/day during the day for wiping of high touch surfaces, taps, handles, railings, equip-ment, etc;

• Our SLSOs are assisting teachers with daily wiping down of any equipment that may be shared in a room, eg keyboards, calculators; toys, games etc;

• Morning arrival. Please note that school gates are closed until 8.25am. An executive member of staff will open the gate closer to the Kindergarten room for pedestrian access. Please make sure cars move to the end of the No Parking zone for student drop off;

• Afternoon departure: In each time slot, we send families out togeth-er first, then grade by grade. It is still A-G 2.35pm. H-O 2.45pm and the rest 2.55pm. We need your support in NOT coming to the area at the front of the school at all unless it is your time. The only people who should be standing in sight of school staff at this area should be those who are picking up at that time;

• It is best to park and walk to school to avoid clogging up the road and avoiding traffic fines. Please remember that the No Parking zone at the front of the school is a 2 minute stopping zone.;

• School Office: Please conduct as much business with the school office via telephone or email rather than coming in person;

SCHOOL GROUNDS

Access to the school grounds for adults will continue to be restricted. There should be no visitors to the school unless they are essential. If you need to speak to teachers please email or telephone the school.

SCHOOL CANTEEN Open for normal operation. WHAT NOT TO BRING TO SCHOOL Students are not to bring any sport equipment to school. Only school supplied equipment is to be used.

LAPTOP RETURNS

All borrowed laptops need to be returned to the school office as soon as possible.

COMMUNICATION WITH THE SCHOOL Preferred method for communication is via telephone, email or other online methods such as See Saw.

Due to health restrictions the school office can only accom-modate 1 visitor at a time. If you need to enter the office for a matter that cannot be addressed via telephone or email, please ensure that the area is empty before enter-ing.

UNIFORMS

Our uniform shop remains closed for now. Uniforms can be ordered and paid for at the front office each morning, they will be given to students in class OR order over the phone and pay on pickup (before 11am each day).

HYGIENE PRACTICES The school has ample supply of soap and paper towels both in classrooms and the toilet block. Students will take part in regular handwashing practice throughout the day. The school now has additional cleaning time in place, including around 25% extra cleaning time. Clean-ing during the day has also commenced for surfaces that are frequently touched, eg door handles, taps etc. Sharing of equipment will be discouraged.

ROLL MARKING

Class rolls are marked as per usual from this point for-ward. All students should be at school unless:

• They have a medical certificate which states that they are unable to return to school due to an on-going medical condition.

• They are currently unwell.

• If a student is absent without a medical reason for more than three days, this will be recorded as an unauthorised absence and followed up by the school.

Students who have a medical certificate to stay at home will be supported to learn from home in line with regu-lar procedures if they are able to. These regular proce-dures are different to what was offered during the learning from home period. If you require work to be provided to your child whilst they are at home due to an underlying health condition, you should contact the school for assistance.

Please note, students who live with a family member in one of the categories identified as being at increased risk by the AHPPC, should attend school unless a medi-cal practitioner advises otherwise in writing.

STUDENT ILLNESS

If your child is unwell, do not send them to school. If they are unwell at school, you or your nominated emergency contact will need to collect them immedi-ately. Please make sure your contact details are up to date.
