Tips to Save Money & Go Green1. Turn off water when its not in use.2. Unplug appliances when you are not using

them3. Reduce your showers to under 15 minutes.4. Walk, bike, or car pool to work.5. Recycle bottles, paper, and plastic.6. Skip water bottles and instead use a water

purifier and a reusable bottle.7. Set your thermostat a few degrees lower in

the winter and a few degrees higher in the summer.

8. Install a low-flow shower head.

Have a Green Heart and Save the Green Sea Turtles

Major threats to sea turtles in the United States include, but are not limited to: destruction and alteration of nesting and foraging habitats; incidental capture in commercial and recreational fisheries; entanglement in marine debris; and vessel strikes. To reduce the incidental capture of sea turtles in commercial fisheries, NOAA Fisheries has enacted regulations to restrict certain U.S. commercial fishing gears (gillnets, long lines, pound nets, and trawls) that have known, significant by catch of sea turtles. To effective address all threats to marine turtles, NOAA Fisheries and the USFWS have developed recovery plans to direct research and management efforts for sea turtle species.

Therefore, conservation of sea turtles is important. You can help by not littering near oceans and joining different organizations that promote clean beaches and mating between a female and male turtle.

Earth DayEarth day is a day that is intended to inspire awareness and

appreciation for the Earth’s natural environment. Earth day was founded by the United States Senator Gaylord Nelson as an environmental teach-in first held on April 22, 1970. While the first Earth Day was focused on the United States, an organization was launched by Denis Hayes, who was the original national coordinator in 1970, took it international in 1990 and organized events in 141 nations. Earth day is now coordinated globally by the Earth Day Network, and is celebrated in more than 175 countries every year. April 22 corresponds to spring in the Northeastern Hemisphere and autumn in the Southern Hemisphere. Numerous communities celebrate Earth Week, and entire week of activities focused on environmental issues. World Environmental Day, celebrated on June 5 in a different nation every year, remains the principle United Nations environmental observance.
