Green Light Therapy Light therapy has recently become very popular as a noninvasive way to treat a number of skin conditions. Different light treatments can help with a variety of problems ranging from acne, age spots, and wrinkles to general healing of cuts or other wounds. The process used for these treatments is completely safe and has been shown to produce fast results How light therapy works Light therapy uses wavelengths (or colors) of light to stimulate the cells of the skin. This stimulation increases circulation and encourages the growth of collagen. This has been shown to be an effective and noninvasive way to rejuvenate the skin and promote repair of common damage. The light that is used penetrates through the epidermis and into the dermis layer of the skin. The dermis is the layer of the skin that contains collagen and elastin which give the skin its flexibility and strength. This layer also contains nerve endings, sweat and oil glands, hair follicles and blood vessels. By using wavelengths of light that penetrate to this level we stimulate the collagen and elastin which restore a youthful look to the skin. Each color of the spectrum represents a different wavelength of light. Each of these wavelengths can penetrate the skin to a different degree and thus affect different changes in the layers of the skin. Green light Therapy Green light is the calming wavelength of light. This therapy promotes balance and calm in the skin while reducing redness. Anti-aging therapies often include green light therapy as well. In addition to reducing redness, the calming effect of this wavelength has also been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties that can work to reduce hyperpigmentation. The calming nature of this wavelength can also be used in combination with other light therapy to further rejuvenate the skin. The green light also calms damaged skin that is causing pain and thus reduce the pain being experienced. While the green light has a number of uses, as mentioned above, it is primarily used to improve pigmentation that has been caused by the sun and to restore similar damages. This treatment will fade:

Green Light Therapy

Light therapy has recently become very popular as a noninvasive way to treat a number of skin conditions. Different light treatments can help with a variety of problems ranging from acne, age spots, and wrinkles to general healing of cuts or other wounds. The process used for these treatments is completely safe and has been shown to produce fast results

How light therapy works

Light therapy uses wavelengths (or colors) of light to stimulate the cells of the skin.

Green light Therapy

Green light is the calming wavelength of light.

Sun spots Freckles Age spots Reddish and brownish patches Liver spots Hyperpigmentation Melanin problems

The green light can affect the appearance of these spots and discolorations by affecting the melanocytes that reside in the bottom layer of the epidermis. They reduce the production of these cells which allows the spots and patches to fade over time. The fading of these patches results in the appearance of younger, healthier, rejuvenated skin and a more even complexion.

Each wavelength of light is known to have different effects on the skin depending on how far into the dermis it penetrates. Green light has been seen to have anti-aging properties and calming properties. This wavelength penetrates to the deepest layer of the dermis to alter the function of melanocytes and, by doing so, reduce the appearance of spots and patches that often develop with age. The use of this wavelength in combination with others can also help soothe the skin and prevent it from being aggravated.
