This 1-day conference will provide ple-nary sessions in the morning based on topics (atrial fibrillation and stroke prevention, misdiagnosed headaches, vertigo), that can be commonly seen in any practice of internal medicine, family medicine, geriatrics, emergency medi-cine and psychiatry. The afternoon ses-sion are workshops that reinforce the morning’s plenary sessions with an “ap-proach to...” format which relate directly to the morning sessions providing more in-depth discussion and tools for these common issues.

GoalsThis one-day conference will provide discussion on:

• Management of atrial fibrillation in stroke

• Identification of commonly missed headaches

• Identification of serious causes of visual loss, diplopia and vertigo

• Management of women with epilepsy• Identification of common focal causes

of weakness• Identification of common

neuroradiological findings

ObjectivesParticipants will be able to:

1. Determine an approach to and the management of atrial fibrillation in stroke

2. Identify commonly missed headaches3. Identify and manage serious causes of

visual loss, diplopia and vertigo4. Identify an approach to the manage-

ment of women with epilepsy5. Identify the common focal causes

of weakness6. Be able to read and determine

common neuroradiological findings7. Determine an approach in choosing

antiepileptic medications8. Determine an approach to describing

common movement disorders
