l n t r tThe Philippine Clean Water Act of 2004 (Republic Act No. 9275aims to protect the countrys water bodies from pollution from

    -

    agriculture and community/household activities).

How will discharges of wastewater be controlled?

are required to get a permit to discharge from the DENR or the

    Laguna Lake Development Authority.

How will the discharge of wastewater be discouraged?

Anyone discharging wastewater into a water body will have to

    pay a wastewater charge.

What are the prohibited acts under The Clean Water Act?

Among others, the Act prohibits the following:

    1. Discharging or depositing any water pollutant to the water

    body.

    2. Discharging, injecting or allowing to enter into the soil,

anyt ing t at wou po ute groun water.

    3. Operating facilities that discharge regulated water pollutants

    without the valid required permits.

    body.

    2. Discharging, injecting or allowing to enter into the soil,

    anything that would pollute groundwater.

    3. O eratin facilities that dischar e re ulated water ollutants

    without the valid required permits.

    4. Unauthorized transport or dumping into waters of sewage

    sludge or solid waste.

    5. Refusal to allow entry, inspection and monitoring as well as

access to reports and records by the DENR.

    6. Refusal or failure to submit reports and/or designate

pollution control officers whenever required by the DENR.7. Disposal of potentially infectious medical waste into sea by

    vessels.

    8. Operate facilities that discharge or allow to seep, willfully or

through grave negligence, prohibited chemicals, substances,

    or pollutants into water bodies.

1st Offense: Upon the recommendation of the Pollution

Adjudication Board (PAB), anyone who commits prohibited act

such as discharging untreated wastewater into any water bod

will be fined for every day of violation, the amount of not les

than Php 10,000 but not more than Php 200,000.

2n Offense: Failure to undertake clean-up operations willfullyshall be punished by imprisonment of not less than two year

and not more than four years. This also includes a fine of no

less than Php 50,000 and not more than Php 100,000 per day o

    v o a on.

3rd Offense: Failure or refusal to clean up which results in seriou

injury or loss of life or lead to irreversible water contamination o

    , ,

imprisonment of not less than 6 years and 1 day and not mor

than 12 years and a fine of Php 500,000/day for each day the

h t B . . .Rotating Biological Contactors, commonly called RBCs, are used inwastewater treatment plants (WWTPs). The primary function of these

bio-reactors at WWTPs is the reduction organic matter.

    Design

A suspended/fixed growth biological treatment processes used to

consume organic matter (BOD) from wastewater.

    ons s s o - m ame er s s, c ose y space on a ro a nghorizontal axis.

Disks are covered with a biofilm.

The disks are only partially submerged in wastewater.

As the disk rotates, the biofilm is exposed to the wastewater only

    part of the time.

The rotation in and out of the wastewater serves to vary the feeding

cycle (starve/gorge) of the bacteria and microorganisms that make

    up the biofilm.

    The shaft rotates about 1-2 r m slowl .

Some advantages: Less Upset, High Loading Rate, Nitrification/De-

nitrification, Low O&M Cost, Durable Constructions, Odorless, No

    Noise.

    H w t w rkRBC Package Plants

Three separate processes (primary settlement, bio-contactor and fina

clarification) are combined in a single tank enclosed by low-profil

covers. T e integra primary tan co ects an stores screenings an

detritus and provides 90 days sludge storage to remove the need fo

separate on-site facilities, thus reducing capital and operational costs.

RBC Package Plants are generally supplied for small and medium

populations; where populations are large, multiple units can be used i

    parallel.

    Modular RBCs

Generally used for large populations, in a modular system in both primar

zone. Using individual tanks for each of the three unit processes provide

the greatest flexibility in process design and site layout. The Primar

section may be either a sealed septic or a conical upward flow settlementank. Biological treatment takes place in the self-contained Bio-Contacto

    w c may e nsta e n e t er a or concrete tan . na sett emen

occurs in an upward flow clarifier.

    Operation &

Operating a stand alone facility like our treatment system bring

a lot of challen e. Normall most desi ners are not re ared to

    Maintenance

do it or sometimes are faced with very costly prospects to have i

done "in-house". With these considerations in mind, we offe

our services to operate and maintain the treatment facilities tha

we have installed. Our years of experience give us the edge and

confidence to operate and provide the best treatment for youspecific wastewater issues. We are sharing this confidence with

you as we build mutual trust and partnerships to clean ou

environment. Indeed, it is our pride to be operating a system

which is truly our own - a Filipino ingenuity.

Henceforth, sustaining our technology's operation, operating andmaintaining it will be our commitment to you. However, ou

c ents may c oose to operate t e system t emse ves or re ou

services to do the dirty job of handling their wastewater. In the

services (as applied to individual and common installations) tha

we offer, we also see to it that our clients are able to mee

    .

believe that the mark of a truly efficient system is when it passe

regulatory standards without having to pretend. We look forward

    to this partnership with you.
