• The purpose of green buildings is to reduce the overall impact of buildings on the environment and on human health.

• Green building can be practice by an individual in their home or on a large scale by companies and organizations.

• Renewable resources (wind or solar)• Good insulation• high-efficiency air conditioners and furnaces• replacing traditional incandescent light bulbs

with fluorescent ones• Energy Efficient Appliance (Energy Star Label)

• Reduce, reuse, recycle• Each year, Americans throw out over 195

million tons of trash. 136 million tons of this is building waste. Almost 90% of these materials could have and should have been recycled!!!
