GREEK WEEK 2015 Survivor Edition

The Purpose of Greek Week: The purpose of Greek Week is to foster unity between Greek organizations. Various activities are provided to appeal to fraternity and sorority members alike. The week serves as a time to not only bond with your own brothers and sisters but to meet your fellow Greeks, as well. Greek week is a terrific opportunity to forge lifelong friendships with others you may not have had a chance to meet. Another great purpose for Greek Week is our philanthropy portion. We come together to give back, which is a reason we are all here. Most importantly, the purpose of Greek Week is to HAVE FUN!!!

Greek Week Information: Greek Week events are open to all IFC, NPHC, and PHC organizations at Ball State University. All participants must be a student, faculty, or staff. There are 10 assigned groupings for Greek Week 2015 and each grouping has 3-4 organizations involved.

Alcohol Policy & Disclaimer: Alcohol is NOT tolerated at any Greek Week event. Anyone who has been drinking will not be allowed to participate or attend any events. If a person has been suspected of drinking, he or she will be asked to leave. If the person(s) does not cooperate, University Police will be called. First time offense: the organization will be but on probation for the remainder of events. Second offense: the organization will be disqualified for the remainder of the events.

Greek Week Blood Drive

Do you want to make a difference in the world?

If so you should participate in the Greek Week Blood Drive! One pint of blood can save three lives! The Greek Week Blood Drive is being held on Wednesday, March 25th in Pruis Hall from 11am to 5pm. Before giving blood be sure to eat a light meal and have plenty to drink. In order to give blood you must bring your donor card, driver’s license, or two other forms of identification along with the names of the medications you are taking. Indiana Blood Center was founded in 1952 and is a non-profit community service organization meeting patient’s blood needs at over 60 hospitals across Indiana, delivering more than 550 units of blood each day. These blood needs are met with the help of the nearly 2,000 organizations who host blood drives in 80 of Indiana’s 92 counties and through the dedication of more than 400 Indiana Blood Center staff who live the daily mission of delivering a constant, stable supply of blood components to patients in Indiana hospitals. Indiana Blood Center is the largest independent blood center in Indiana and among the top 20 nationally, distributing more than 150,000 blood components each year.

Penny Wars

Search your cars, pockets, and piggie banks for some change! The Greek Week committee will be hosting a Penny War during the week! For the activity, your tribe must have the highest amount of money in the positive. Sounds easy right? However, the only way to stay in the positive it to donate pennies! Any coin that is silver or for any dollar equals the amount of pennies you must take away from your total score. For example: If I donate 100 pennies and someone places a dollar in my jar, they cancel out and now I am left with zero. Pennies are worth 1 pt. Nickels are worth -5 pts. Dimes are worth -10pts. Quarters are worth -25pts. Dollars are also negative based on how many pennies create that dollar amount. ($1 are worth-100 pts., $5 are worth -500 pts. etc.) Prizes will be giving to the top tribe after the amounts are collected and counted at the end of the week. We will be posting the containers outside the OSL office for each tribe and we will also post them at the Scramble Light on that Wednesday and also on Thursday in the Atrium. Find as many pennies possible but don't forget to put silver in the containers of others! All donations will be forwarded toward CHAMP Camp, our philanthropy.

GREEK WEEK 2015 Survivor Edition

We are so excited to offer three different styles of the shirt this year! The official Greek Week shirt will be available in a short sleeve, a long sleeve, and a tank top. You will

find prices, as well as an image of what they will look like, below.

While we are aware that some chapters make their own Greek Week shirts within the groupings for the week, we would like to encourage you to not do that this year - but rather order an official Greek Week shirt. One of Greek Week’s main purposes is to

bring together the Greek community here at Ball State; everyone having the same shirt would be a cool, symbolic way of doing that.

How to Order: Chapters will have their members order shirts individually online. Each chapter will have its own unique link to order a shirt through – this will ensure that each chapter gets their

shirts quick and it will keep everyone organized in the process. Robyn Piper (Greek Week Director) will be sending the links out to each Chapter President as soon as the links go live, along with directions

on how to order.

Contact Brittany Riddle at [email protected] or Hannah

Sichting at [email protected] if you

have any questions
