Hydro Adventures is adding so much new fun this summer, it will be more than just the wettest water park for miles around. This sum-mer, guests can look forward to even more adventure. The park is adding Scrambler, a crazy mixed-up spinning ride, and Galaxy 500, a twisting steel coaster. In addition to the dry rides, the park is adding new water attractions. There will be a giant, drenching bucket that pours in the kids play area. And for adults, there will be a new Beach Themed bar that pours, too. Park guests can surf the wave of fun beyond just rides. They can test their skill at games like the Missouri Bombers Home Run Challenge or the Triple Threat 3-point Basketball Shoot Around. They can also let their cares float away in one of the relaxing poolside cabanas, or navigate the delicious tastes of summer at Hungry Hydro, the park’s dining area. With the new Scrambler and Galaxy 500, Hydro Adventures is be-coming so much more than just a water park. This evolution is re-flected in the parks new theme line, “Hydro’s for riders. Hydro’s for sliders.” This will be the third year that ownership has added new attractions and improvements to Hydro Adven-tures, showing their commitment to continually grow the park for the community.

NEWS FROM THE CHAMBER
We as an organization are off to a great start in 2016, with lots of new
members accounting for many well attended ribbon cuttings. The pulse of our local
economy remains strong as confirmed by plans for additional retail development
and improvements within the industrial sector. Construction on the Poplar Bluff
School grounds appears to be falling into place nicely, with a few of the projects
completed as promised. Three Rivers College has set a blistering pace for enrollment
and expansion and the new sports complex project was kicked off earlier in April.
With summer quickly approaching the local tourist destinations are preparing
for what appears to be a very admirable season (the crappie have been biting, but
don’t tell anyone). The local housing sector is reporting favorably going to the 2nd
quarter.
Big things are happening in the Greater Poplar Bluff Area and we are thankful
for the members of the community and their continued investment into this fine
area we call home.

Every year the Chamber’s Gateway to Leadership group takes an over-night trip to Jefferson City. While there, the group tours the capitol and has the opportunity to visit with Speaker of the House Todd Richardson and Senator Doug Libla in their office. Aside from that, the members of
the GTL program are also able to take advantage of the trip to network with fellow participants and further
their connections in the businesses community.
