Healthy Lifestyle Goal SettingDesigned to map out specifically what you would like to achieve with your total experience here at the Y, you will meet with a trained fitness staff member to find out where you would like to begin. At the end of the orientation, you will leave with a specific plan of what and how you will participate in here at the Y in order to accomplish your fitness related goals. This orientation can take as little or as long as is necessary to make sure that you get started on the right track!

Personal Fitness CoachingGetting started on the road to your fitness goals is easy at the Y with four free Personal Fitness Coaching sessions to help you learn the correct use of all the equipment in our fitness center. These sessions are designed for people just beginning a workout routine and people who have been faithful exercisers but want to learn some new exercises to add to their workout. You’ll work one-on-one with a member of our fitness staff, who will answer your questions and give you the training you need to help you meet your fitness goals. Session length is approximately 75 minutes.

Body Composition AnalysisUsing basic, accurate bioimpedance testing from Omron, we can help you find out your body fat percentage. This will help you set a baseline for training goals or to help assess cardiovascular risk. At the end of the test, you will be equipped with an informational take home sheet. Please make sure your test is done prior to working out, limit fluid and caffeine intake within three hours of appointment time.

Fitness AssessmentOur Certified Personal Trainers will work with you to gather your body composition information, resting heart rate and blood pressure, muscle and cardiorespiratory endurance, flexibility, body mass index and waist to hip ratio. With this information you will be able to determine your ideal body weight and how to achieve this goal safelyA fitness assessment will also assist you in identifying health risk factors and will give you information to help you create an efficient and effective exercise program. At the end of the assessment you’ll receive a copy of your results to take home, share with your doctor or personal trainer, or use as a baseline for future assessments. Assessments are performed by a personal trainer and are 60 minutes.

Personal TrainingY Personal Training will help you reach your personal goals in a way that maximizes your time, experience and investment. Our personal trainers have nationally recognized certifications and represent a wide variety of specialties, experience and interests such as core conditioning, sports conditioning, weight loss, orthopedic rehabilitation and post-surgery/physical therapy. When you choose to give your time and volunteer at the Y, you are truly changing lives. The affordable programs and services that the Y is able to offer depend on the efforts of our tireless volunteers. When you become a part of our Y volunteer community, you can choose from over 100 different roles that can truly change a life.
