13th September 2019 Newsletter No 15
It’s Megan here! I’m acting in Cathy’s role while she is away and exploring India.
What a wonderful afternoon was had by all the Dads and Grandads! So many people running in all
different directions and then racing back to check their time. It was great to see such an amazing
turn out and the smiles on everyone’s faces. The sausage sizzle was a nice interlude before the
action kicked off again on the soccer field. You know it’s been a great day when you have to finish
up the game because the sun has gone down.
A few little reminders as the holidays hurtle towards us. Monday the 7th of October is the Queen’s
Birthday Holiday. School will resume for Term 4 on Tuesday the 8th of October.
There is also a Pupil Free Day on Monday the 21st of October at the beginning of Week 3.
With the fire season off to an ominous start, I urge you make sure your emergency contact details
are up to date. This is imperative if we need to contact you urgently.
Holidays are nearly here and as this is the last newsletter to go home before then, I would love to
wish everyone a relaxing and safe holiday wherever you choose to spend it. Megan

Father’s Day Fun
Ramsay School
Congratulations to our Ramsay No 1 Team, Tom, Alex, Max and Will for their fantastic effort at the
recent Toowoomba and District Teams Chess Finals which were held to seek the 6 leading
Toowoomba and District teams from the recent district competition held on 27th September. Our
fantastic Ramsay Team attained 4th position in the finals, thus gaining a position in the Toowoomba
and District Group to contest the state finals in Brisbane to be held on the weekend of 19th and 20th
October. Both Miss Lavelle and Mrs Savage found it extremely nerve-wracking watching the boys..
Excursion for Year Two Students
Year Two students with Mrs Savage attended the Child Safety Pantomime put on by the local Police
of the Toowoomba and District area. The group with other local schools travelled by bus to the show
at Empire Church Building on 3rd September. They had a good laugh and were able to take in the
serious messages of Child Protection. During the week we also had a visit from our favourite
policeman, Constable Stuart and his friends to talk to the children on this important topic. Thank you
to our local friendly police officers.
For your Attention
Enclosed find accounts for your attention. Thank you.
Book Fair
The week from Wednesday 23rd October to 29th October will be our Annual Book Fair. Megan has
advised that the Fair will be set up in the library and she will be available there till 3.45p.m. each
afternoon if you are interested in checking out the great range of books available for sale. Our
special school Book Fair Dress Up will be held on 29th October. The holidays might be a good time to
think about your favourite book and costume to match.
P&C Fun Run
Just a quick date claimer for 27th October for our Ramsay Colour Fun Run. In past years it has been a
great community day with lots of fun and also a good fundraiser. More details to come.
Playgroup Excursion
Eight Playgroup families (15 children) enjoyed a morning at
the Darling Downs
Zoo last Tuesday.

Crocodile and hand
