    Friends, Fans and Media,

On behalf of the membership of the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) I want to welcome you to the 2015 GPAC Football Media Day and to the Marina Inn in South Sioux City, Nebraska. We are pleased to be at the Marina Inn for our 16th annual media day as we prepare to kick-off another year of football in the GPAC. A special thank you to our GPAC Football Officials Coordinators Justin Ingalls and Pete Hansen for their atten-dance today as well. It’s positive for the GPAC to have the Officials Coordinators, officials and coaches in the same room at the same time for discussion on rules and interpretations prior to the season. Also, once again this year, we will be conducting a media poll along with the coaches’ poll for the preseason. The GPAC appreciates all the outstanding coverage that the media gives the conference during the year and this is an opportunity for them to weigh in on the upcoming season. I want to thank the Coaches, SID’s, and Administrators of the GPAC for their continued support of GPAC Foot-ball. We strive to do it right here in the GPAC and strike a balance between what happens on and off the field. That’s why our motto is and will continue to be “Academic and Athletic Excellence Since 2000!” Above all we do it all for the student-athletes of the GPAC!

Thank you to the Midland University Sports Information staff for their help with our video feed today. I also want to thank GPAC Assistiant Commissioner Lucas Mohrman for his assistance in preparing for this annual event. Excitement for media day continues to grow each year in the league from our inaugural event back in 2000 at Mahoney State Park.. On behalf of the more than 5,000 student-athletes that participate in 19 intercollegiate sports at the eleven member schools in the GPAC I invite you to enjoy GPAC Media Day and the upcoming football and athletic sea-son in the conference. Please continue to follow the GPAC on our website at www.gpacsports.com, on Face-book and on Twitter @gpacsports with the hash tag #GPACFB. Yours in GPAC Athletics, Corey WestraGPAC Commissioner

    WELCOME - FROM THE COMMISSIONER
