2 You know that when you were pagans, somehow or other you wereinfluenced and led astray to mute idols.

Spirit,10 to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another

Attitude,Source& Purpose
3 For by the grace given me I say to every one ofyou: Do not think of yourself more highly than youought, but rather think of yourself with sober
judgment, in accordance with the faith God hasdistributed to each of you.4 For just as each of us has one body with manymembers, and these members do not all have the
same function,5so in Christ we, though many, form one body, andeach member belongs to all the others.

I Timothy 3:1-17Here is a trustworthy saying: Whoever aspires to be an
overseer
desires anoble task
.2Now the
overseer
is to beabove reproach
,faithful to his wife
,temperate, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able toteach,3 not given to drunkenness, not violent but gentle, notquarrelsome
,not a lover of money
.4He must
manage his own family well
and see that hischildren
obey him, and he must do so in a manner worthy of fullrespect.5(If anyone does not know how to manage his own family, howcan he take care of God's church?)
6 He must not be a recent convert, or he may becomeconceitedand fall under the same judgment as the devil.7He must also have a
good reputation with outsiders
, so thathe will not fall into disgrace and into the devil's trap.

Function, Privilege & Provision, Protection
1Timothy 5:17-20 NIV
17The elderswho direct the affairs of the church wellareworthy of double honor
, especially those whosework
ispreachingand teaching.18 For Scripture says, "Do not muzzle an ox while it is
treading out the grain,"1 and "The worker deserves hiswages
."19
Do not entertain an accusation against an elder
unlessit is brought by two or three witnesses.20 But those elders who are sinning you are to reprove
before everyone
, so that the others may take warning.

Church DEACONS
Timothy 3:1-15 NIV8 In the same way, deaconsare to be worthy of respect, sincere, not
indulging in much wine, and not pursuing dishonest gain.9 They must keep hold of the deep truths of the faith with a clearconscience.10They must first be tested; and then if there is nothing against them, let them SERVE as DEACONS.11
In the same way, the women(wives of deacons)
are to be worthy of respect, not malicious talkersbut temperateand trustworthyin everything.12A deaconmust be faithful to his wifeand must manage his childrenand his household well.13 Those who have served well gain an excellent standing and great
assurance in their faith in Christ Jesus.14 Although I hope to come to you soon, I am writing you theseinstructions so that,15if I am delayed, you will know how people ought to conduct themselvesin God's household, which is the church of the living God, the pillar andfoundation of the truth.
