Dear Members of the GDCC: I was very surprised (and flattered) to receive the letter regarding having been named an honorary member of the GDCC. I don’t feel that I’ve really contributed much to our club over the years. Whereas people such as the Davises, Joy DeGruccio, Jackie White, Kathleen Twaits, Gene and Brucie Mitchell, and many others too numerous to name are far more deserving of this than I. So very true!!
Zamara came into my life as I was dealing with new challenges and personal change. She is my first dog to handle in the show ring. Her confidence, outgoing personality and devotion continues to pull me through the highly competitive Great Dane ring. The last I see when I go to sleep and the first when I wake is Zamara...I am truly blessed to have her in my life.

GVD, torsion, bloat, gastric dilatation-volvulus, bloat with stomach torsion, twisted stomach are all terms we as Great Dane breeders/ owners know all too well. The devastating results of this condition on our beloved breed can affect anyone of us. Fortunately research has been dedicated to finding answers as to why this happens and how to prevent it. I recently stumbled upon this public group on Facebook, Great Dane Bloat and Study. This group has alot of information, comparing past and ongoing study's, along with owners sharing their experiences and sharing ideas for us to try. This group is making a positive influence by educating, answering questions and supporting those of us who own Great Danes.

As Raffle Chairperson for the 2018 Specialty, I am appealing to all club members to support this fundraising event by assisting with the donation of either items (doggy or non-doggy), or mail a check to help purchase items for baskets or larger items to be offered individually.
