Callistemon ‘Great Balls of Fire’ HARDY, COMPACT AND COLOURFUL Origin: Victoria, Australia Species: Callistemon salignus Full sun Height 1m Spread 1m Hedging Features: • Striking new growth of rich red-cerise colour makes a vibrant display • Compact and bushy form of the native bottle-brush • Hardy for private or public uses including roadside verges, carparks, nature strips, parks and schools as well as other commercial applications • Grows well in wide range of climatic conditions from humidity in the far north, coastal conditions in Western Australia to cooler southern states of Victoria and Tasmania • Evergreen without any special needs Suggested Uses: • Ornamental hedging • Will grow well in containers as well as gardens • Small gardens, patios and courtyards • Native or bush style gardens •Year round interest from foliage ideal for permanent structure Water Requirements: Medium. Once established, quite dry tolerant requiring only occasional deep watering during extended periods of heat. Care: Plant in most soil types which are well draining. Feed in spring with a slow release fertiliser for natives. Responds well to regular pruning which encourages fresh growth and dense habit.
