ALL NEED CANDLES TO CARRY IN THE PROCESSION

Remember NOT to light your processional candles or any other candles until we take the new light, just before the procession.

We have candles for you that are made of genuine beeswax, and the ‘skinny’ design helps eliminate dripping if you hold your candles straight, as we want to take good care of our church.

Order for Holy Communion Members of the Orthodox Church age seven and above must prepare for Holy Communion with a recent confession, prayer, fasting from all food and drink from midnight (unless medical condition preclude it), being in church before the Epistle and Gospel readings, and being at peace with everyone.

As there are NO CHURCH SCHOOL classes today, chil-dren should sit with their parents and come to Com-munion with them. An usher will dismiss your row from the center aisle. Then return to your place by a side aisle for the prayers of thanksgiving and the final blessing and dismissal. Please let choir members pass when they come down for Communion.

A Warm Welcome to Our Guests We are glad you are worshipping with us. Please note that participation in Holy Communion is limited to members of the Orthodox Church in good standing, who have prepared with prayer, fasting and confession.

For all others: though we cannot share Communion with you—since it is an expression of membership and full unity in faith—you are welcome to come forward after the dismissal, receive a blessing and partake of the blessed bread (from the large bowls). Please also sign our guest book, and introduce yourself to Fr. Nabil during the coffee hour. You may inquire with him how you can become a member.

Agape Vespers will be at 3 p.m. today. At this service, the “Good News” of the Resurrection will be proclaimed in many languages, demonstrating the universality of the Church and of the Christian Faith.

We have texts for John 20.19-25 in many languages. Please ar-rive by 2:45 pm if you can read any foreign language.

ANNUAL PARISH MEETING

• Sunday, May 5: Reports will be available for pickup and review.

• Sunday, May 12: We will have our accountants on hand to answer questions about the financial statement.

• Sunday, May 19: Brief Formal meeting – Pastor’s message, Council Chairman’s message, approval of reports.

If you interested in serving on the parish council or would like to nominate someone, please contact either Susanne Baranyk (317-508-3759, [email protected]) or Jeffrey Beck (765-307-0789, [email protected]) by May 12.
