Once you have worked your fi rst square if your square feels too dense and stiff for your liking please go up a hook size. This may slightly aff ect the size of your blanket but will give the blanket a more pleasing fabric.

CROCHET HOOK4mm (no 8) (US G6) crochet hook or size required to achieve correct square size.

CROCHET ABBREVIATIONSch = chain; dc = double crochet; ss = slip stitch; tr = treble; beg = beginning; ch sp = chain space.

INSTRUCTIONSUsing 4mm crochet hook and colour 1 make 4 ch, ss into fi rst ch to form a ring.Round 1: 3 ch, 2 tr, (2 ch, 3 tr) 3 times, 2 ch, ss into 3rd of 3 ch at beg of round to join, turn. Break yarn and fasten off . Round 2: Join colour 2 into nearest ch sp, 3 ch (counts as 1tr), (2tr, 2ch, 3 tr) into same ch sp, * 2 ch, (3tr, 2 ch, 3tr) into next ch sp,

rep from * twice more, 2 ch, sl st to 3rd of 3 ch at beg of round, turn. Break yarn and fasten off .Round 3: Join colour 3 into nearest ch sp, 3 ch (counts as 1tr), 2 tr into same ch sp, * 2 ch, (3 tr, 2 ch, 3 tr) into corner ch sp, 2 ch, 3 tr into next ch sp, rep from * twice more, 2 ch, (3 tr, 2 ch, 3 tr) into corner ch sp, 2ch, sl st to 3rd of 3 ch at beg of round, turn.
