Yarn: Scheepjes Catona or Katia Capri - 300 gram in total.

Basfärg 150 gram + 150 gram av övriga valfria färger. Garn och färgnummer för väskorna i

bild är:

Pink bag – Yarn Catona colour 248 + colours 130, 396, 408 and 523.

Green bag – Yarn Catona colour 172 + colours 101, 130, 162, 402, 408, 412 and 506.

Crochet hook: 3,0 mm

You also need: Scissors, needle and pearls for the strings.

Size: 36 x 43 cm. The strap is 64 cm, but it’s easy to adjust to any size.

Crochet terms (US):

Slst= slip stitch

Ch= chain

Sc= single crochet

Dc= double crochet

Hdc= half double crochet

Ch space= chain space

**= Repeat the stitch combination

()= If there are more than one type of stitch in the same stitch or chain space, the combination

is put in brackets.

This bag is made using 18 granny squares. I made all squares with different , but you can do

as you like. I used the same edge colour for all squares, the same colour I used for the

handles end the top of the bag.

Granny square:

(7 rows).

1: Ch 4, sl st to form a ring

Ch 3, 2 dc in the ring

Ch 3, 3 dc in the ring

3 dc in the ring, ch 3, 3 dc in the ring, ch 3, end with 1 sl st in the third ch.

2. If you want to continue with the same colour: Turn the square swith the wrong side up. Sl

st to the ch space, ch 2, (2 dc, ch 3, 3 dc) in the ch space,* (3 dc, ch 3, 3 dc) in the next ch

space*, repeat ** 2 more times and end with ch 3. If you want to change colour, end with an

”invisible join”, look at the pictures in the beginning of the next page.

Invisible join: Cut the yarn, use a needle and pull the yarn through the second stitch to the left,

and then back through the first stitch to the right.

3. Turn the square, now with the right side up *(3 dc, ch 3, 3 dc) in the ch space, 3 dc in the

middle*, repeat ** 3 more times, and end with an invisible join.

4. Turn the square with the wrong side up, crochet exactly as in row 3.

5. If you want to continue with the same colour, crochet like you did in row 2.

7. Last row, use the same colour for all squares

Now we have made one square combination, crochet 17 more squares using different colour

combinations. Use your imagination!

Joining:

1. Join the squares using sl st and crochet in the backloops. Put 9 of the squares with the

wrong side facing up at a table, Crochet together with sl st in the back loops, as th picture

shows. The same with the

2. Put the 2 big squares together with the wrong sides out, crochet together from one corner,

along 3 sides and end in the fourth corner, using sl st and crochet in the backloops. 3 sl st in

each corner. Turn the right sides out.

The bag:

The fisr dc in each row is replaced with ch 3.

1. Start in the right corner, crochet *1 dc in the ch space in the corner, 1 dc in each dc, 1 dc in

the ch space, 1 dc in the joining between two squares*, repeat ** around the whole bag and

end with a sl st = 144 dc.

2-4 1 dc in each stitch, end with a sl st.

5. *2 dc, ch 1, skip 1 stitch*, repeat * and end with a sl st.

6. *1 dc in the first stitch, 1 dc in the next stitch, 1 dc oin the ch space*, repeat ** and end

with a sl st

7-8 1 dc in each stitch.

Bag strap:

For the bag strap you use hdc. Turn after each row and the first hdc is replaced with ch 2.

1. Ch 8, start crocheting in the third stitch from the hook, 1 hdc in each ch, = 7 hdc.

2. 1 hdc in each stitch, turn.

Keep crocheting back and forth until the bag stripe measures 64 cm.

Sew the bag strap from the wrong side of the bag, make sure it`s 65 stitches between the

straps at each side.

Crochet sl st along the side of the bag and the bag strap at bothe sides of the bag.

Make a lace to thread trough the holes in top of the bag, using ch stitches or a knitting loom. I

placed a tassel and some pearls in the ends of the lace.
