Principal’s Message Dear Parents and Carers, It’s a GIRL Congratulations to Ms Tucker and Ricky on the birth of their baby daughter Soli, on Sunday 3 November. Grandparents Day On Thursday 31 October the school held its very special Grandparents Day. What a fantastic turnout we had and such a special way to celebrate all the things that grandparents or older people do for our students each and every day. It is a day where our students can spend time with an older loved one and continue the connection across the generations.
A day like today is always a team effort but I would especially like to thank Ms Newton and her team for the organisation.
A very big thank you to all for visiting our school. Stage 3 Excursion Our Stage 3 students are attending the Canberra excursion held over 3 days, seeing the sights and experiences that our National Capital has to offer. Some of the things they will be doing include visiting Telstra Tower, Electoral Education Office, The Australian Institute of Sport and Parliament House, just to name a few. Thank you to Ms Newton and Ms Davies for organising the excursion and to with Mr Whitford, Mr Dobinson and at very late notice Ms Quintal, who replaced Ms Thompson. We appreciate you giving up your own time so our students can have this fantastic experience.
Classes for 2020 We are looking at the class structures for next year based on the number of students we are anticipating at Berkeley Public School in 2020. Please let the office know if you are intending to leave the school in 2019 or at the beginning of the new year. This will enable our class structures to reflect the correct enrolments. P&C Thank you to our wonderful P&C and parent helpers who organised the Halloween Disco, including decorating the hall and cooking the BBQ. The students had a great time and they all looked fantastic in their costunes. Thank you also to the staff who attended to assist with the supervision. The P&C are such a hardworking group of parents and their efforts are always greatly appreciated. I am taking leave starting in Week 6 to have surgery on my hip and will return to school at the beginning of next year. During this time the school will be in the very capable hands of Lauren Paterson as relieving principal. Kind regards Wayne Osborne Principal

Message from the P&C
Dear Parents/Carers
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the volunteer parents/carers for taking time out of their busy lives to help with all of the fundraisers we’ve had this year.
We are a small group of parents (with three core members) who make time to volunteer at the school with running the uniform shop and setting up fundraising events like discos, Easter raffle, colour-run days, Mother’s Day and Father’s Day stalls. When it comes to fundraisers, please be aware that we set a closing date for notes and money to be returned to ensure we have enough food/drinks and to ensure your children don’t miss out on any prizes.
We appreciate your co-operation with this. We are all working parents outside of school and we are a not-for-profit organisation. All money raised from fundraising gets put back into the school. So if you have any free time when we are setting up for events, you are more than welcome to help.

Operation Christmas Child Thank you to all of the families who packed a Christmas shoebox full of gifts to send to a child overseas. This year we have collected 27 boxes full of wonderful and thoughtful items. What a fantastic effort! Our boxes were picked up this week and will soon begin their long journey overseas, where they will be given to a child who otherwise would not receive any presents at Christmas. Thank you again to our school community for taking part in this wonderful act of kindness on purpose.
