Grading

High quality trees guaranteed: Nordmann Classic

guarantees that each and every tree is of a very

high quality and sorted according to clearly defined

criteria. The sorting criteria for Nordmann Classic

red corresponds to international sorting regu

lations.

n COLOUR:

The tree has a fresh and sound, uniform deep

green colour, which is characteristic for Nord

mann Classic top quality.

n SHAPE:

The width of each tree is less than the tree’s

height, but at least half of tree’s height.

n DENSITY:

The tree has an equally distributed number of

branch wreaths and whorls. A sufficient number

of internodes ensure a uniform density. The tree

has:

– At least 4 branch wreaths at a height of 1.0 – 1.5 m



n STEM

The tree has a straight stem, which accentuates

the symmetry.

n TOP SHOOT:

The tree has one top shoot.

n SYMMETRY:

The tree is symmetric and the branches are even

ly distributed on the tree. The tree should have

at least 4 branches of the same length in each

branch wreath. Internodes can compensate for

minor imbalances. The branches are cut to make

the tree as symmetric as possible.

n HEIGHT:

The height is measured from the cut face to the

point at the top shoot to which the top branch

wreath reaches when the branches are bent

alongside the top shoot. However, the height

cannot exceed the top shoot. The height is classi

fied in the following size intervals:

100 150 cm 125 175 cm

150 200 cm 175 225 cm

200 250 cm

n STUB:

The stub is clean and the length of the stub is

between 5 – 10 % of the tree height for trees

smaller than 200 cm and between 5 and 15 % of

the tree height for trees taller than 200 cm.

n DAMAGES:

The tree must not have any damages, such as

dead or damaged branches, lichen, moss, algae

or damages from insects and animals. The

needles should be sound, strong and evenly

distributed.

The sorting criteria for Nordmann Classic Red corres

ponds to international sorting regulations: The trees

are flawless, symmetric and straightstemmed with a

sound, uniform deep green colour. The proportions

between height and width are harmonious and the

branch wreaths, intermediary branches and whorls

have grown evenly. The photos below will give you an

idea of the different sorting categories of Nordmann

Classic Red.
