6.3 Grades for Transfer Students
To Accept Transfer Students: If a student has transferred into a course, the teacher must accept the student
into the course and enter his walk-in transfer average. To accept the transfer average, the teacher will select the “T” beside the student’s name and the following window will appear.
The DATE field defaults to the current date. To enter a different date (if the student’s transfer date is different from the date displayed), type the date.
In the AVERAGE field, enter the student’s walk-in average. This is the student’s average in the class from which he transferred.
In the WEIGHT field, enter the weight you wish to apply to the student’s walk-in average. (This weight will reflect the student’s six weeks average for the class from which he transferred)
The following table will assist you in defining the weights based on the number of weeks spent in a class.
Weeks in Class Accepted Weight % 1 17% 2 34% 3 50% 4 67% 5 84% 6 100%

Assignment Grades: (70 + 80 + 90)/3=80 Test Grades: (90 + 100)/2=95 Assignment Grade Weight : 80 * 40% = 32 Test Grade Weight: 95 * 60% = 57 Take Sum of all Category Values: 32 + 57 = 89 Divide the Total by the sum of the weights for the
Categories, then multiply by 100: (89 / 100) * 100 = 89
