Task Task Task Task Read independently for 20 minutes. ACTIVITY: INFERENCE An inference is a deduction that is made based upon reasoning and allows you to figure out information that might be missing in the text or picture. You must be the detective and look closely for clues in the pictures and text, as well as use your prior knowledge to make your inference. Re-read: ‘The Feather’ by Margaret Wild to help answer the following questions: 1. What is the mood or tone of the text? How did you come to this conclusion? 2. Why do you think the children’s clothes are colourful? 3. Why did the feather turn brown? 4. Why did the children throw the feather off of the cliff? 5. One of the main themes of the story was ‘hope’ - how was this shown in the story? THIS IS AN ASSESSMENT TASK: Try to complete this task without any help. Remember to upload to MS Teams, ‘Files’. ACTIVITY: WRITING A PROCEDURE Watch: ‘How to Plant a Seed-A How to Book’ Write a procedural text describing the steps on how to plant a tree or any plant from a seedling, as presented to you in the video. Remember to use the correct structure, supportive images and language features of a procedural text. Aim: What you need: What you do: (Start each step with an action verb). ACTIVITY: MATHLETICS Go onto Mathletics and complete the set modules to the best of your ability. There are 2 modules set for you to complete. They are: Place Value (recap) Division/Multiplication (teacher choice) Aim for at least 80% correct responses. Once you have completed your modules you are to go onto Mathletics live for 15 minutes. (Please note that your teachers can view the amount of time you spend on Mathletics). ACTIVITY: STUDENT CHOICE/CATCH UP Use this time to choose from the following: Finish off any activities that have not been completed from Reading, Writing, Maths or Inquiry this week. Complete your activities from Auslan, Performing Arts, P.E. or STEM and upload work. Check that all ASSESSMENT tasks from this week, are uploaded to Teams for your teacher to see.
