Medical Attendant
I could not afford the cost of panadol (pain killer) until I joined GLCS
I was captured young and made a bush wife. I had sleeping problems and did not want to talk about it
with anyone. I like my blue uniform because it identifies me with
other participants at the centre.

Joe (not his real name) had both his hands Amputated
I earn my living and support my family through backyard gardening, using artificial limbs
I suffer severe pains and the inability to lift and carry objects Handicap International provided the artificial limbs I now use to
earn a living. At first, I was ashamed to use the artificial limbs but with proper
counselling I tried the limbs and now I think I can ‘use the hands’ again.
I like using the limbs mainly while at work in my garden.
