In the midst of these years of war and disease, he wrote the words of a hymn that begins: "Nowthank we all our God with hearts and hands and voices." Hello from Parish Nursing!

How is your summer going? Isn't it wonderful??! Definitely my favorite time of year!!! Breakfast isgreat in the summer with all the fresh fruit and produce. Something seems so decadent aboutdrinking coffee on the patio and enjoying the fresh air. But breakfast is great any time of day! Hereare my two favorite recipes!

Healthy Fluf"fy'pancakes:1 cup Greek vanilla yogurt1cup unbleached flour3 eggs1tablespoon vanilla1teaspoon baking powderDash of saltMilk to desired thickness(add mix-ins to this batter such as mashed bananas, chocolate chips, coconut ...)Whisk all together and bake on griddle with olive oil or coconut oil until brown on both sides. Servewith berries or whatever fruit is in season. Makes enough for a family of 4 with maybe a fewleftovers ©

Fruit and veggie smoothies:1cup Greek vamna yogurt1cup whole fruit juice1cup iceFruits and veggies'of-choieel Blend and-enjeylllSome ideas to add to your smoothie - spinach, apple, banana, pineapple, carrot, ginger, cucumber, strawberry, orange, lime, lemon, celery, really the possibilities are endless and so fun to mix! IalsomakeSmoothie packs and put in the freezer to grab and go! For example: in 1 ziploc bag I freeze 1 peeledbanana, 1 cup of spinach, strawberries and pineapple. Just grab and blend! ©

Are you participating in 2015 Summer Get-going Emmanuel?! Grab a calendar from the bulletinboard at the top of the stairs and do the healthy activities or make up your own!
