What you need to know about Grants• Grants can be an alternative revenue source for your business.
• Grants.gov is the clearinghouse for all 26 agencies to submit grant opportunities.• You will still have to prepare and submit:
– Project plans– Staffing plans– Budgets – Milestones

To apply for Federal Grants you will need to:
• Register on Grants.gov
• Download a grant application package
• Submit the grant application for approval
• Apply for grants

– SBIR’S– What you should know:
• It is a small business innovation research program. This program is aimed specifically at small business.
• It’s highly competitive, much like a typical RFP process you will need to submit:– A Grant Proposal– A Project Plan– Project Budget– A Staffing plan– Project Deliverables

– The funds are awarded in phases• Phase I has a fund cap of $150k in costs for 6 months.
• Phase II has a fund cap of $1m in costs for 2yrs.
• SBIR program does not fund phase III
