THE OLD BANK DISTRICT

The Hellman Building is located adjacent to the corner of 4th and Main Streets - the cradle of

Downtown Los Angeles’ renaissance in heart of the Old Bank District (O.B.D.). When most of Downtown’s streets were dead ten years ago, the O.B.D. was alive with restaurants and residents.

Since then, this neighborhood has continued to grow and still maintains its position as one of the most

active districts, particularly at night, in Downtown. Not only are four of Los Angeles’ top restaurants

here (including famed Baco Mercat and Bar Ama), but two of Downtown’s most successful basement bars/ clubs, Continental Club (in the basement of

The Hellman Building) and Bar El Dorado, located on Spring Street in the adjacent building directly

south of The Hellman Building. Given the influx of residents, employees and destination visitors daily, the O.B.D. has reached critical mass. In addition, all DTLA is very excited for the opening of Main Museum of Los Angeles in The Hellman Building and the restoration of the old bank building and

opening of the famous San Francisco Tartine Bakery, a few feet away from the subject space.
