"Michael Jackson's family wants a private autopsy of the pop icon

because of unanswered questions about how he died and the doctor

who was with him. They are grief-stricken. They're hurt because they

lost a son. But the wound is now being kept open by the mystery and

unanswered questions of the cause of death."

An initial autopsy was performed in Los Angeles and officials held

a press conference indicating that there was no indication of trauma

or foul play, according to the coroners office. It could take several

weeks for the final reports to be released.

Michael Jackson’s body was released to the family and no decision

has yet been made on who would possibly perform the second

autopsy or where it might take place.

The death of Michael Jackson is the latest in a series of deaths by

celebrities that seemingly connected with enormous amounts of

stress.

Bishop Morton, a son of the Church of God in Christ,

has emerged as the premier Baptist pastor in the

country. Last week, he wove into his sermon a review of

the Asuza Street Revival that lasted from 1906-1912 and

gave birth to the modern global pentecostal movement,

which produced denominations like the Church of God

in Christ, Assemblies of God and the Pentecostal

Assemblies of the World. However, in his sermon to the

Fellowhip, Presiding Bishop Morton preached from Isa.

6:1-4, and encouraged delegates to pursue humility and

God’s glory.

During the week, Bishop Morton was joined by

several other preachers that all complimented the

message of Bishop Morton to the conference. Those

preachers included Bishop Neil Ellis, Bishop Oscar

Brown, Bishop Bobby McCarter, Pastor R. A. Vernon, Dr.

Jerry Black, Carolyn Showell, Paula White and several

others.

In addition to the preaching services, there were

outstanding classes from the School of Ministry under

the direction of Bishop Tommie Triplett, all night

activities for the young adults (ages 18-35) led by

General Overseer Terrance Carter and engaging

fellowship for the youth designed by General Overseer

Christopher Harris. The Department of Christian

Bishop Paul S. Morton reached back to the early days

of the Pentecostal Movement to encourage the

delegates of the 16th Annual Conference of the Full

Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship to reach for “More of

the Glory” last Thursday night during his annual

message to the conference.

Education was proud to publicly

acknowledge two persons who have

completed the curriculum for the

Doctorate of Sacred Theology degree form

the fellowship’s Graduate School of

Theological Studies.

Music has always been a major part of

the conference and the singing group

RIZEN and Marvin Sapp led the way with

presentations that inspired those in

attendance.

A major pre-conference event was a

gala and celebration that honored Bishop

Morton and his family for 16 years of

service. Surprise presentations from

Marvin Winans and Ben Tankard rounded

out the evening which was a perfect tribute

to the man who has given so much of

himself to the fellowship and the body of

Christ.

“Cornelia Gail is an urban jewel waiting to be put on display. Her books examine the sensational and sometimes surly contours of urban life. Filled with riveting scenes and high octane emotion, she has shrewdly woven these chapters into a positive polemic about rising above poverty, abuse, discouragement and despair and discovering the beauty of life, faith and love after all. Gail is a keen and candid storyteller.” — Doctor Lance D. Watson, St. Paul Baptist Church, Richmond Virginia
