While special people give us gifts at Christmas, one gift is the best of all. It’s a gift that God gives to everyone who asks—the gift of Jesus.
The Bible says that “God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son. Anyone who believes in him will not die but will have eternal life” (John 3:16, NIRV).
God loves us all very much, but the things that we have done wrong—like hurting others, lying, or stealing—are what the Bible calls sin and separate us from God. Everyone has sinned, but God sent His own Son, Jesus, to die on the cross and take away our sin, so that we can be forgiven. This is God’s Christmas present for you—forgiveness of sin and a new life with Him, now and forever. The Bible tells us that this gift of a new, forgiven life is available to all who ask. You can ask Jesus right now to come into your life by praying something like this:
Dear Jesus, I know that I have done things that are wrong. I believe that You
took the punishment for the things that I have done wrong, so that I can be forgiven. Come into my life, forgive my sins, and change me from the inside so that I can have new life with You now and forever. Amen.
