RepentanceJesus came into Galilee, proclaiming the gospel of God, and saying, "The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel.“

Mark 1:14b-15

Page 12: Gospel on the Ground

The times of ignorance God overlooked, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent, because he has fixed a day on which he will judge the world in righteousness by a man whom he has appointed; and of this he has given assurance to all by raising him from the dead.“

Wholly Yours I am full of earthYou are heaven’s worthI am stained with dirt, prone to depravityYou are everything that is bright and cleanThe antonym of meYou are divinityBut a certain sign of grace is thisFrom the broken earth flowers come up Pushing through the dirt

Page 47: Gospel on the Ground

You are holy, holy, holyAll heaven cries “Holy, holy God”You are holy, holy, holyI want to be holy like You are

You are everything that is bright and cleanAnd You’re covering me with Your majestyAnd the truest sign of grace was thisFrom wounded hands redemption fell downLiberating manBut the harder I try the more clearly can I feelThe depth of our fall and the weight of it allAnd so this might could be the most impossible thingYour grandness in me making me clean

Traditional Step Three: We made a decision to turn our will and our lives over

to the care of God, as you understand him.

The times of ignorance God overlooked, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent, because he has fixed a day on which he will judge the world in righteousness by a man whom he has appointed; and of this he has given assurance to all by raising him from the dead.“

Acts 17:30

Redeeming Truth of Step Three

Having had the Holy Spirit illuminate our desperate and helpless condition before God and having received the hope that comes

through the gospel of Jesus Christ, we step out in faith and repent as an act of worship and obedience, surrendering our will and lives to

Christ’s care and control.

and he died for all, that those who live might no longer live for themselves but for him who for their sake died and was raised.

2 Cor. 5:15
