NEW EDJ
• Title: The Need and Want Ad• Pencil and Paper= Day 1 • What is the Problem? You are asked to design an
advertisements for Google Glass. You have to design a Want Ad and a Need Ad.
• Remember to BRAINSTORM (Refer to PPT on my website.) I need to see a list in both of your notebooks!!!!!
• What is the difference between the two types of Ads? (see slide 11)
Starting the Project Extra Help
• How to start:You are to brainstorm with a partner why you think
Google Glass could be marketed as need and want. Why do you think it is important to show both ways?
Who is the target audience for your Ad? Is it for someone in the US? Is it for a certain age group? What is the message you are trying to send?
See me when you have finished creating a Need Ad and Want AD in the EDJ titled “The Need and Want Ad”
Need Ad Vs. Want Ad • Need- More facts/ info about product - How the product is REALLY
helpful- Positive effects- Tell you to buy it and shows you
why- Don’t lie - No negative elements - Make it clear that you have to
have this product - Explain how safe it is . - Proof
• Want- How cool and fun it would
be to have - How the product is helpful- Persuades you to buy it,
but it does not have to be that direct
- Does not have to be realistic
- - Don’t show the bad things about it
