Introduction

Project Glass is a research and development program by Google to develop an augmented reality Head Mounted display (HMD).

The intended purpose of Google Glass would be the hands free displaying of information currently available to most smartphone users, and allowing for interaction with the Internet via natural language voice commands.

The Glass project was started by Babak Parviz.

Glass is being developed by Google X Lab.

Google Glass displays information in a smartphone-like format hands- free. It can interact with the Internet via natural language voice commands and uses Google's Android operating system.

Voice Sensors

There are many companies that provide functionality of voice sensor.

Originated by Apple’s Siri (1st April, 2010) in iPhone 4S and onwards models, Samsung’s S-voice, and Google’s own search by voice.

But this function is limited up to the browser or smart phones.

Google Glass is all about sensors and it mostly works on it.

Mini Projector In the smart phones, tablets, or in any other

devices user interface is provided by screen that is in front of your eyes.

You have to keep your eyes at your screen to use it.

It’s a better that if we link up our screen with our eyes to use the functions of the device.

Yes, Google Glass provide this by mini projector and prism.

Mini Projector projects picture into prism layer and it refracts the picture in front of the retina and user can see the screen.

Google Glass has small camera with 5MP with 720p HD video recording.

It also provides the feature of sharing the photos and videos on social network.

There is no need to keep phones or digital camera with you.

Just wear the glass and capture all your memories.

Touchpad Capacitive touch work by sensing the conductive properties of an object, usually

the skin on your fingertip.

A capacitive screen on a smartphone usually has a glass face and doesn’t rely on pressure.

Google glass has small sized touchpad to control the incoming notification and other gesture based applications.

You just say word and Google Glass will take a picture or record a video. You will never have to touch the hardware. The photos and videos will be stored on the 4GB flash memory of the

device, and can also be shared on social networking websites.

Can be easily broken or damaged. Users will have a tough

time taking care of it.

It may lead to accidents while driving.

Privacy of people may breach with new glasses.

Thus we conclude that Google glass is a technical masterpiece. It is based on a projector and a prism that projects the image

directly onto the retina. By this we can just feel something that is smart to do work for us. By this technology we hopes that it will replace cell phones in

future.
