GENERAL RULES AND REGULATIONS – OPEN CLASS EXHIBITS
ALL OPEN CLASS EXHIBIT ENTRIES (except Flowers and Garden Produce) ARE
MONDAY, AUGUST 12, 2019 FROM 9:00 am to 9:00 pm
FAIR OFFICE # 208-934-4529
For all Classes premiums paid in addition to ribbons are: Blue - $2.00, Red - $1.00. Special
awards are listed in their departments.
1. Entries in all departments, unless otherwise specified, are open to the State of Idaho.
2. Management reserves the right to accept entries after closing dates, if good and sufficient reason for the delay is given.
3. COMPETITION: Competition is defined as a contest for supremacy between two or more animals, products, or articles owned by separate exhibitors. Two exhibits owned by the same person or household do not constitute competition. Awards will be left up to the judge.
4. CONDITIONS OF COMPETITION: Exhibitors may make as many entries as desired. No exhibitor will be allowed more than two premiums in any one class.
5. Exhibitors must, in all cases, be bona fide owners of the articles exhibited by them, except as otherwise specified.
6. The Fair reserves the right to refuse or reject any exhibit offered if it is objectionable in any way, if it requires excessive space, or if the capacity of the department has been reached.
7. The Fair positively will not pay a cash premium on any article not specifically mentioned in the Premium List. Such articles may be accepted by the Superintendent of the department for exhibition. The Judges book shall be evidence of payment of premiums. Ribbons and cards are not accepted.
8. All exhibits must be in place at times scheduled and must remain in place until 10:00 pm Saturday, August 17. No decorations may be taken down until 10:00 pm that same evening. ALL exhibits open to the public from7:00 pm until 10:00 pm on Wednesday and 10:00 am until 10:00 pm Thursday through Saturday.
9. All exhibits assigned a space become subject to control of the Department Superintendent.
2
10. Each exhibitor will be solely responsible for any loss, injury, or damage done to any article exhibited by him/her. The Fair will take every reasonable precaution to prevent accident or loss.
11. No evidence of previous awards shall be displayed prior to judging.
12. Should it be found that a premium has been obtained by false evidence or misrepresentation or a violation of any of the general rules governing the department, all premiums will be withheld.
13. 4-H and FFA shall be eligible for entry in Open Class, providing they have filled out an official open class entry blank.
14. The premiums on exhibits are paid only on the record of awards retuned to the manager’s office by the superintendents.
15. Exhibits will be judged on merit alone. Exclusion: Special Divisions will be judged within their unit only.
16. Any article exhibited in the wrong class and/or under the wrong number will not be judged unless it was a mistake of the entry clerk and discovered at the time of judging. It is the responsibility of the exhibitor to select the proper class and lot classification for each exhibit.
17. Each individual is limited to exhibiting one article per lot number.
18. The Superintendent reserves the right to assign the location of displays to achieve a more artistic and harmonious effect for the exhibit.
19. Open class tags may be picked up at the Gooding County Fair Office prior to the fair and will also be available in each department at time of entry.
20. A class may be opened for high interest subjects not in the premium list if it is determined there are enough like or similar items submitted for competition. Articles without a class or lot classification will be for display only.
21. Exhibits may be picked up after 10:00 pm on Saturday, August 17, or Sunday, August 18 from 9:00 am until 11:00 am. Claim stubs must be presented to pick up exhibits.

1. Entries in all departments, unless otherwise specified, are open to the State of Idaho.
