A new Watermark University semester begins this month. Classes are a great opportunity to keep active and they are a lot of fun. You can be part of a class to learn something new or your may want to volunteer to teach a class, it's a great way to share something you are passionate about. Look for fun, new and continuing courses like: Flower Arranging, Ceramics, Billiards, Sponge Painting, Sketch Lessons, Book Club, Jewelry Making, Arts & Crafts and more. Labor Day is Monday the 6th and a BBQ will take place down on

the pool deck. This will be our last summer holiday before Autumn

begins. Don't miss the three day speaker series that will be held

the 13, 15 & 17 on "The Monuments Men", it's very interesting. The

How's of Art Workshop will be held every Thursday at 10am in the

Art Studio. Dana Point Harbor Picnic will be at 12pm on the 22nd.

HOA Study Session and Board Meeting after will be on the 30th of

September. Are you interested in playing Scrabble? A Scrabble

game will set up in the Game Room every Thursday by 1pmfor

Health Events: Beginning with Aging

and Brain Health. Your memory can still

work well as you get older. If you are

particularly good at remembering things

based on a ‘picture’ in your mind, you

might use this visual memory to

compensate for areas where you’re not as

good in. Food as Fuel and proper

Nutrition as well as physical activity

work together to support strength and

energy levels for the day.

- The Super Power of Food (Smoothies,

how and what to put in them)

- Cognitive Engagement (volunteering,

strategy games like bridge, Sudoku,

journaling, scrap-booking and book club)

- Art & Brain Health (painting classes,

workshops, museums and galleries)

September is here! Once again, we held our biggest event for August.... it

was our annual Hawaiian Luau, for our Sea Bluffs Anniversary! What a

great afternoon it was! We had traditional dancers and musicians to

entertain us for the afternoon. The dancers told beautiful stories; each was

about the different islands in the pacific. Residents and loved ones sipped a

refreshing cocktail or non alcoholic drink and had a delicious spread of

food prepared by Chef Paul and his dining staff. Mahalo to all of our staff.

The month of August was filled with activities and musical performances

for residents to enjoy. Many learning discussion were available from health

talks to honoring scientists, music and art appreciation and poet of the

month. Residents enjoyed ceramic workshop along with arts & crafts. The

month ended with a well-attended picnic in our beautiful backyard patio.
