ANNUAL MISSION SPEAKER – SISTER MARY KAY DROUIN, OP

As part of our commitment to global missionary work, our parish community will welcome Sister Mary Kay Drouin, OP, an Adrian Dominican Sister, to be with us at our Masses the weekend of June 24/25. She will share the story of her Congregation’s missionary work and invite you to partner with the Sisters through your prayer and financial support.

The Adrian Dominican Sisters are an international Congregation of vowed women religious whose roots go back to St. Dominic in the 13th century. They are committed to their Vision that calls them to seek truth, make

peace and reverence life. The Sisters minister in a variety of professions that flow from the traditional works of education, health care

and social work. Today, they are also involved in community organizing and other works of justice and peace, as well as ministries in law, the arts, science, business, pastoral care and administration. They strive to address the critical needs of society and serve wherever they are called.

SAVE THE DATE ! Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University is coming to Good Shepherd THIS SUMMER! Watch for more details soon. Mark your calendar for a preview on June 29 at 7:00pm in the PLC.

Truly, Entirely Present…..

I am the living bread that came down from heaven; whoever eats this bread will live forever;

and the bread that I will give is my flesh for the life of the world. John 6:51

….We Catholics believe the consecrated bread and wine at Mass become, truly and entirely, the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ. Many who might otherwise be attracted to Catholicism regard this assertion as absurd, and they walk away. The Eucharist is not something easily understood or fully accepted, but received in faith, is life-giving.

Mark Nielsen, Excerpt from Living Faith, 2017

GSCC 2016 CENSUS REPORT

We mailed almost 750 census forms in late July 2016 requesting they be returned completed to the parish office by end of August. Since then we have done a follow-up mailing and a team of volunteers have also made phone calls/emails to try to collect census information. Thanks to all who com leted forms and all who made hone calls! We have some volunteers who will continue to try to reach out to those who we have not been able to make contact with. We believe the 2016 census was a success and we hope the updated information gathered will help us better serve our parishioners. Here's a look at our parish numbers as of this week: 699 households are on our active roster

• 1637 members make up those households • 628 of those parish families reside in Frankfort • 349 of our members are age 60 or over • 250 members are 18 or under.
