• If you were absent yesterday this is how we completed Week 3 Day 1 together. Ask your partner if your answers are correct once you complete the 4 questions independently. • Follow these same directions for your assignment today• Before you read: preview the title, pictures, captions, headings
• Predict what the article will be about and make notes at the top of the page• While you read mark up the text
• Number the paragraphs • Circle unfamiliar words• Underline important details• Summarize on the side what you learned in each paragraph
• After you have read the article • Reflect on what you just learned about the main character, setting, central theme• Read the questions select the best answer • Provide textual evidence by writing the (P#L#) where textual support can be
found why this is the BEST answer. We will grade these together on Thursday.
