The Ritual 1) Banish with (Gontian) runes. Visualize a transparant sphere around you with 6 runes branded on the sides. Draw the runes in the air with your wand. One in front of you ( or Algiz), one left ( or Uruz), one right ( or Thurisaz), one above you ( or Naudhiz), one below your feet ( or Ansuz) and one behind you ( or Teiwaz). Visualize the runes to be pulsating with the blood of the Æsir (the supreme Germanic gods) and the Morrígan (battle goddesses of the Celts). This sets up a protective connection to the higher Celto- Germanic pantheon; 2) Now that the greater gods are with you, clean your altar with sound, preferably bells or cymbals of any kind. Visualize each vibration of sound to be filling the room with a bright shot of moonlight*. After the cleansing, say a prayer by choice 3 times for the benefit of Ghent and its inhabitants; 3) An offering to the goddess is always appropriate, especially when in the form of burning (local) herbs and plants. One example of a plant that can be associated with Gontia is Artemesia Vulgaris (Mugwort), because of its oneiric characteristics; 4) Sit down and meditate or use any other technique until you reach trance/gnosis. While in this magical state of consciousness, visualize the goddess. Recite her name constantly until only her image and name remain in your mind. The audiovisual must be purged until only she remains. Certain images that depict her are now in circulation on the internet (attachment I and II). Visualize her with a blue skin and voluptuous body, for she is conjoinment, the bringer of life in the nocturnal radiance of the moonlight; 5) In this trance, let her talk to you. Let the words come, even if they don't make sense, they will in the end. She is an oracle. And as a local deity, she cares about the well-being of her inhabitants, so let the matriarch's serpentine wisdom speak; 6) Now continue on with the basics for charging/launching any type of sigil and/or servitor, if any, you wish to designate to work in and around Gontia's domain ; 7) Banish with laughter. *This ritual is ideally performed in the nocturnal embrace of the moonlight.

Introduction on the importance of tutelary deities

This small text is part of a bigger project that goes by the name "Gontia Goetia". This is an essential core ritual for

the greater "Gontia Working" that is to be released to the public in the future. This ritual is designed specifically

for people who work for the benefit of the revival of the Gontia cult and are thus working and/or living in and

around the city of Ghent, of whom the goddess is the tutelary deity. Though it must be stipulated that the basics of

the ritual can be transferred and editted to your own local or tutelary deity.

It is a simple ritual, but it must be repeated every week, at a time by your choice. The tutelary deity requires the

acknowledgment of its habitants to function. If not, it is forgotten and will only leave the city to its mundane

activities, thus despiritualizing the very city, town or village (which is exactly what has happened to most tutelary

deities of today's world). But these deities do never die, they only sleep, to be awakened by the chants of devotees.

Therefore, this ritual must be spread among all practising magicians who work and or live in the city. After all, you

inhabit his/her domain, so respect the ground you walk upon. And it seems quite egocentric to focuss your magical

activity solely on your own particular pantheon, knowing very well that a physical place functions with subtle energies

as much as a river, a lake or a mountain do. One cannot simply practise and/or theorize about the occult without

building a connection to the gods, spirits, demons and other intermediaries between the heights and the depths.

Among those gods one can include the local/regional gods and consult them for their mediation regarding a variety

of desires having to do with the place itself.

The Ritual

1) Banish with (Gontian) runes. Visualize a transparant sphere around you with 6 runes branded on the sides.

Draw the runes in the air with your wand. One in front of you ( or Algiz), one left ( or Uruz), one right

( or Thurisaz), one above you ( or Naudhiz), one below your feet ( or Ansuz) and one behind you

( or Teiwaz). Visualize the runes to be pulsating with the blood of the Æsir (the supreme Germanic gods)

and the Morrígan (battle goddesses of the Celts). This sets up a protective connection to the higher Celto-

Germanic pantheon;

2) Now that the greater gods are with you, clean your altar with sound, preferably bells or cymbals of any kind.

Visualize each vibration of sound to be filling the room with a bright shot of moonlight*. After the cleansing,

say a prayer by choice 3 times for the benefit of Ghent and its inhabitants;

3) An offering to the goddess is always appropriate, especially when in the form of burning (local) herbs and

plants. One example of a plant that can be associated with Gontia is Artemesia Vulgaris (Mugwort), because of

its oneiric characteristics;

4) Sit down and meditate or use any other technique until you reach trance/gnosis. While in this magical state of

consciousness, visualize the goddess. Recite her name constantly until only her image and name remain in your

mind. The audiovisual must be purged until only she remains. Certain images that depict her are now in

circulation on the internet (attachment I and II). Visualize her with a blue skin and voluptuous body, for she is

conjoinment, the bringer of life in the nocturnal radiance of the moonlight;

5) In this trance, let her talk to you. Let the words come, even if they don't make sense, they will in the end. She

is an oracle. And as a local deity, she cares about the well-being of her inhabitants, so let the matriarch's

serpentine wisdom speak;

6) Now continue on with the basics for charging/launching any type of sigil and/or servitor, if any, you wish to

designate to work in and around Gontia's domain ;

7) Banish with laughter.*This ritual is ideally performed in the nocturnal embrace of the moonlight.
