ABOUT USNot uncommon, but not well-known, neurofibromatosis (NF) is a progressive genetic disorder that occurs in 1 in 3,000 births. NF has a wide range of complications which vary in severity, but are oftentimes devastating, and can include blindness, bone abnormalities, cancer, deafness, disfigurement, learning disabilities, and excruciating and disabling pain. There is currently no cure, nor are there many effective treatment options.

The Children’s Tumor Foundation is dedicated to improving the lives of the more than 2 million people worldwide who live with NF. The Foundation is the largest non-government funding source for NF research, and this research is shedding new light on cancer, brain tumors, learning disabilities, and bone abnormalities, which will ultimately benefit the broader community.
