THE BANYAN GOLF CLUB

Built among a pineapple plantation, Banyan Golf Club is the newest Hua Hin golf course, open in October 2008, the course provides spectacular mountain and ocean views from almost all of the holes and is by a wide margin the best layout in the area.

Each hole has six tee boxes making the course more or less chal-lenging depending on each golfers abilities and tee selection, strategically placed water hazards, waste bunkers, and sand traps are spread throughout the course.

Cleaver use of native pineapple groves make the local Hua Hin “fruits” come into play if you stray too far off most fairways.

BLACK MOUNTAIN GOLF CLUB

A fantastic new championship golf course is a true testament to excellent golf course design, the designer Phil Ryan has retained all the natural features of the surrounding environment to create this masterpiece of a golf course.

The course has been carved out of jungle and pineapple plantations and all the natural creeks, large rocks and trees into a visually stun-ning golf course.

The course nestles in a valley, within touching distance of the “Black Mountains” which take their name from large black rocks set into the mountain providing a magnificent backdrop to many of the holes.

This intriguing course will provide a challenge for golfers of all standards as they thread their way through well-placed hazards to greens of the highest standards. Accuracy is required at all times as the fairways flanked by a series of hillocks covered by a forest of young trees.

This golf course is truly absorbing, although rolling fairways and spectacular mounding surrounding the greens, many of which are hidden by the mature trees making approach shots rather tricky.

SEA PINE GOLF CLUB

The Army Golf Club II designed by Maj. Gen. Weerayudth Phetbua-sak is located in “Baan Nong Kae” district in Hua Hin province.

The golf course opened on november 2010 and the quality of the building construction is absolutely fantanstic.

Some of holes are direct on the sea, some sourrounded by pines and lakes and others have a background of mountains. The view is absolutely ashtonishing.

It is a very challenging Par 72 golf course of 7,444 yards from the back tees.

IMPERIAL LAKE VIEW GOLF CLUB

KAENG KRACHAN GOLF & COUNTRY CLUB

Krachan Country Club is located 54 kilometres north from Hua Hin and opened in 1994. The first 18 holes (Lake and Valley) were designed by Cherd Bunyaratavej, the famous Thai golf architect. It is an undulating course which requires accuracy off the tee to avoid losing your ball amongst the many trees and bamboo forest which line the fairways. The fairways are beautiful to play off and the greens can be tricky even though not appearing to have a lot of movement in them. Several natural lakes form the basis for the water hazard that come into play on 6 holes.

The new Jack Nicklaus 9 holes Signature course (Mountain) opened in March 2008. The new par 36 Nicklaus course stretches over 3,600 yards. Each hole presents risk versus reward options and is playable for golfers of all skill levels.

ROYAL HUA HIN GOLF CLUB

Royal Hua Hin is the oldest 18-hole international standard course in Thailand and is only 5 minutes from downtown Hua Hin. The course was commissioned in 1924 to accommodate the interests of the British railway workers and Thai aristocracy living in the area. Bering of traditional older British golf course design, the course is con-structed on natural terrain and set between some spectacular rocky hills. Excellent views of the Gulf of Thailand and the city centre are possible from several of the holes.

A major renovation in the 1980’s brought this course up to interna-tional standards, despite its age. Mature tree lined fairways are now abundant making for many shaded lies. The Par 3 14th is particu-larly impressive with a Thai temple in the back drop of the already challenging hole.
