Scholarships• $250 chapter scholarship will be given out at the end of the

semester • Deadline to apply is November 16th by noon• Scholarship application will be posted online

T-Shirt Design Contest• Design a chapter t-shirt• Winner will have their design put on t-shirts and sold for $5

per shirt• Winner will also receive a reward (either scholarship or gift

card)• Deadline for submission is Friday, October 21st by noon• Submit all design ideas to [email protected] or bring

to the Golden Key office in the Student Union during office hours

Adult Literacy Advocates• Tutor adult students who are working to improve reading,

English speakers twice per week • Volunteers will attend training and then set schedule with the

EveryBody Reads• Read to a student twice a month throughout the school year

at East Baton Rouge Parish School• 2 times per month throughout the school year

EveryBody Counts• Provide individualized math assistance to 2nd and 3rd graders

throughout the school year at East Baton Rouge Parish School• 1 time per week throughout the school year

Big Buddy Teen Program• Tutor middle and high school students• $150 for a 2-day/wk commitment and $300 for a 4 day/wk

commitment, 1 hr/day for the 3 months of service.• Oct.-Dec., Jan.-Mar., 1 hr/day, 2 or 4X/week

Light the Night Walk• Sunday, September 25, 2011 at 7 pm• LSU (Highland Rd & Stadium Dr)• Leukemia & Lymphoma Society• Shifts: 10a-1p, 3p-7p, 7p-10p

Louisiana Book Festival• Saturday, October 29, 2011• 9a-5p• Escorting authors• Guiding visitors • Selling refreshments• Working with children in the Young Readers Pavilion• Assist with face painting children’s faces
