DEAR EXHIBITORS, We are all people who share an abiding interest in our dogs and in participating in the world of the Dog Fancy. Some of us are only exhibitors and some only volunteers, but many of us are both. At the Alberta Kennel Club we are proud of our more than one hundred year record of service to the Fancy. At all times it is our intention to give you the best Dog Show that we possibly can. We need to speak about respect for one another and while understanding the pressures on both the Exhibitor and the Volunteer; we believe we all can do better. Dog Shows offer us an opportunity to meet and to compete ideally in a supportive environment. Dog Shows need organizers and participants but if we cannot find common ground, then the organizers will leave and participants will have nowhere to compete. Rude and disrespectful behavior can’t be tolerated on either side. If we have erred, please let us know. We will listen to concerns that are reasonably and politely expressed and will fix what we can. It is not our intention to upset you. What we will not tolerate is behaviour that is in contravention of civil behaviour or our expressed requests, such as pick up your dog’s feces, don’t park where not permitted, leave your benching space as clean as you found it, don’t raise your voice in anger etc., etc. You know, all the things we learned from our parents about how to get along in life. The Alberta Kennel Club will have zero tolerance for rude language or bad behaviour and will invite disruptive people to leave the Show and no refunds will be offered. Thank you, The Alberta Kennel Club Show Committee

Planning Your Stay at the Summer Classic The Alberta Kennel Club is thrilled to be holding our show at Spruce Meadows once again! Holding our event there comes with some significant responsibilities for ALL OF US – volunteers and exhibitors alike. You will agree that this is not your normal facility and rules must be followed. You must clean up after your dog. Please Keep Baggies With You At All Times. Discourage the boys from casually lifting their legs on fences, posts, trees or shrubs. Think of this as your home for the weekend – we are sure that you wouldn’t allow it in your house so don’t let it happen on the show grounds.

Failure to pick-up after your dogs will result in automatic expulsion from the show and the show grounds. This will be enforced. Some Basic Requests: 1. Spruce Meadows does not allow overnight tenting on their grounds. 2. Parking will be allowed only in areas designated by the Parking Superintendent. 3. All RV’s must have boards under all of their tires and generators – sorry, No Exceptions! 4. Please be prepared to bring leveling materials for your unit. 5. For all Motor homes, please ensure you have your exhaust pipe extension, this is a mandatory requirement. 6. There will be absolutely NO dumping of grey water or sewage on Spruce Meadows grounds permitted 7. Water & electrical hook-ups are not available for RV units. 8. All parking is at your own risk:

THE ALBERTA KENNEL CLUB IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR WEATHER RELATED DAMAGE TO PERSONAL PROPERTY. PLEASE BE PREPARED FOR UNFORSEEN EVENTS ESPECIALLY WIND AND/OR HAIL. Please ensure that awnings are down and/or secured if you are leaving the show grounds

9. Complimentary shuttle services to and from the RV areas and public parking lot throughout the entire day, pick-up and drop off locations will be made available to you upon arrival in your welcome package.

10. We offer Complimentary Showers for our exhibitors – The Alberta Kennel Club greatly appreciates any donations towards offsetting the cost of the showers.

11. Generators - Please ensure they are off please between the hours of 11:00 PM and 6:00 AM – this is the designated “quiet time” for our friends and neighbors.

12. If you have to leave the show grounds, dogs in your care must be moved inside. DOGS MAY NOT BE LEFT UNATTENDED IN ANY OUTDOOR ENCLOSURE. FAILURE TO COMPLY MAY RESULT IN EXCUSAL FROM THE SHOW.

13. All Set -ups are required to have a contact phone number posted in case of emergency. 14. All indoor and outdoor benching must be vacated 1 hour following Best in Show on Monday Aug 5, 2019 15. No balloons of any kind are permitted on the grounds of Spruce Meadow

OSTEOPATHY / CRANIOSACRAL THERAPY TREATMENTS

Dr. Laura Taylor DVM

August 2 – 4th, 2019 9 am – 4 pm

Osteopathy is a type of manual therapy that restores normal mobility to all the joints and internal tissues and organs of the body. The end result is optimum posture, balanced symmetry of movement, greater stride length, etc.

A dog does not need to have a mobility problem to benefit from an osteopathic treatment. A great moving dog will move even better! The majority of joint restrictions often come from nerve changes from organs…this is why chiropractic can be very temporary.

It is very common to have subtle tension in the prostate/ovaries/uterus be a cause of loss of some symmetry in the pelvis thus affecting mobility. 30 minute treatment sessions - Show Special $90.00

For more information / to book an appointment ($50 deposit required) Contact Dr. Laura Taylor [email protected] More information at www.TaylorHolisticVet.ca
