Changeovers

Change-Overs are always on Saturdays

from 9am—12 noon. It would be appreci-

ated if members do not deliver their paint-

ings earlier than 9am, as last time, it caused

a strain on our volunteer staff.

Parking

Please be careful not to park your vehicle in

the park in front of our Gallery as the Gold

Coast City Council is issuing fines of up to

$700 for doing so.

We realise that this is particularly difficult

for some of our Members so please call out

and we’ll help with your paintings, where

possible.

ART EXHIBITION by RQAS ESCAPE ARTISTS in BOONAH

As most will know, the RQAS Escape Artists is a small sub-group of artists from Royal

Queensland Art Society, Gold Coast, who regularly paint in outdoor locations, escaping from

the four walls of their studios.

During September 2018 and October 2019, members of the group travelled about 100kms

to Boonah. They stayed there in The Outlook retreat and explored around the picturesque

local area to capture their own impressions of the surrounding Scenic Rim.

Some of their art from those visits will be on display and for sale from 12 February until 21

March 2020, in an exhibition at the Boonah Regional Art Gallery located at 3 HIGH

STREET, BOONAH. The Gallery is open from 10am to 4pm from Wednesday to Sunday.

Admission is free. You and your friends are invited to attend the Opening Celebration with

drinks and finger food at 1pm on Saturday 15 February 2020 and of course, to inspect the

exhibition too.

ART EXHIBITION by RQAS ESCAPE ARTISTS at RQAS G.C.

The RQAS Escape Artists from Royal Queensland Art Society, Gold Coast, regularly es-

cape from their studios to paint in selected outdoor locations. Some examples of their art

captured in and around the Gold Coast during 2019 will be on display and for sale from

Saturday 29 February until Thursday 26 March 2020, in the Peter Abraham Gallery upstairs

at 25 Broadbeach Boulevard, Broadbeach. Entry is free and all are welcome.

NOTICE TO ALL RQAS GOLD COAST ESCAPE ARTISTS

Location for Plein Air painting Wednesday 12 February 2020

Participation as an ESCAPE ARTIST is open to all RQAS members. This month we will be painting at a Currumbin Creek site which is out along Currumbin Creek Road and where Burke Lodge Drive, Pococks Bridge, and Robert Neumann Park meet. It is about 5 km out from Currumbin, just past Piggabeen Road on the left. (UBD page 80, B1.) The group will be meeting there any time from about 9am. Easy parking is available on the side of the road, with good areas to paint on both sides of the road. At the site there is a park, a creek, a small lake, walking tracks and geese, trees and shade, plus toilets. A café is some distance away. Bring your own painting gear, easel, table, seat, beach umbrella, hat, sun screen, insect repellent, water and lunch if you want to do so.

RQAS Escape Artists’ Annual Exhibition is commencing on 28 February 2020 until 26 March 2020 in the Peter Abraham Gallery.
