Ira Glass: Three Acts, Two Dancers, One Radio Host

This American Life host Ira Glass worked with Monica Bill Barnes

& Company to invent a show com-bining two art forms that, as Glass puts it, “have no business being together”: dance and radio. One is all words and no visuals; the other is all visuals and no words.

The result is a funny, lively evening of dance and stories that brought down the house in its first test run at Carnegie Hall. “What makes it work,” says Glass, “is a shared sensibility. As dancers, Monica and Anna are amazingly relatable and funny storytellers without words.”Date: Saturday, April 11 Time: 8:00 p.m. Cost: $60.75Deadline: Wednesday, March 25Location: Paramount Theatre, 911 Pine St., SeattleEvent Coordinator: Eric Hamada, 425-965-9335, [email protected]: Send a check payable to BMA and a self-addressed, stamped business envelope to Eric Hamada, MC 90-18, c/o The Boeing Company, P.O. Spectrum Dance TheaterCarmina Burana

This new work by Spectrum Dance Theater reimagines Carl Orff’s popular scenic can-

tata as a journey from doubt and disillusion-ment to a restoration of faith in the essential goodness of man.

Tony Award–nominated choreographer Donald Byrd’s first encounter with Orff’s score led to a large-scale danced drama for New York City Opera in 1997. In stark contrast, this new staging is a minimalist rumination on the fact that the authors of the music’s text were, more than likely, defrocked monks.Date: Saturday, April 25 Time: 8:00 p.m. Cost: $36.50Deadline: Monday, April 6Location: Moore Theatre, 1932 Second Ave., SeattleEvent Coordinator: Eric Hamada, 425-965-9335, [email protected]: Send a check payable to BMA and a self-addressed, stamped business envelope to Eric Hamada, MC 90-18, c/o The Boeing Company, P.O. Financial Seminar

Financial Series: Risk ManagementThy Will be Done:

Getting Your Core Documents in OrderEvery day, approximately 7,100 US families lose a loved one.1

Studies estimate that roughly 4,500 of those people will die without a proper estate plan.2 In addition to dealing with their grief, each of these families may also have to struggle through the process of probate and distributing assets, without instructions or the benefit of knowing the deceased’s wishes.

Relationships in even the most harmonious families can be destroyed over the division of money, property, and heirlooms.

Even if you have a plan, are you confident that• Your plan reflects your wishes and current law?• Your family is prepared for their inheritance?

Thy Will be Done is an interactive workshop. Instead of simply listening to a presentation, you’ll have the opportunity to respond directly to key planning questions and make real-time decisions about your estate plan. If you’d like, your decisions will be recorded and returned to you in a personalized Thy Will be Done Report. Imagine leaving the seminar having discovered• Whether or not to use certain types of trusts.• How to protect certain estate assets from creditors.• How to designate your power of attorney, trustees, personal

representative, and guardian.• How to communicate with your beneficiaries and prepare

them for their inheritance.
