Business Schools for Impact – UNCTAD  

v What will the project deliver? The project will design a set of teaching tools to complement existing masters programmes and MBAs and stimulate graduates to pursue pro-impact business models. Its key elements are:

§  An online network to facilitate the exchange of knowledge, experience and contacts

§  An open-source platform with content, modules and case studies supplemented by a roster with project and internship opportunities in low-income communities and regions

§  Ultimately, a curriculum for a Global Impact Masters (GIM) programme that brings together core and specific skills relevant to investing and operating in low-income environments

§  The GIM programme will be taken up initially by a group of universities in Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America and Oceana that are currently involved in developing the programme.

v  Tangaza University College (A constituent college of the Catholic University of Eastern Africa) in conjunction with ALTIS, Catholic University of Milan, Italy.

v MBA Global Business and Sustainability – Social Entrepreneurship Track (2010) - One year programme

§  Aims to provide budding entrepreneurs an opportunity to begin or scale up

socially impactful businesses. §  20 modules made up of core and skill courses (core courses in business

strategy and management, and skill courses needed to manage new or existing venture).

§  Mode of delivery (integrated mode comprising class teaching and distance learning by partner institutions).
