International airport is proposed to be developed through public-private participation in Kopra - Panvel are a in Navi Mumbai.
The site of the airport is located in an area of 1,160 hectares accommodating two parallel runways for simultaneous and segregated parallel operation.
The Union Ministry of Environment and Forests has given the final environmental clearance on the 22nd of November 2010. It is expected that the airport will absorb approximately 10 million passengers in 3 years. It is expected that the airport will result in substantial demand for commercial,
hospitality and residential real estate in the surrounding areas of Panvel, Mulund, Thane, Navi Mumbai and Airoli.
1. NAVI - MUMBAI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
The Mumbai Trans Harbour Link will connect Sewri (Mumbai end) to Nhava Sheva (Navi Mumbai end). It is
proposed to be developed as an Expressway link with a six-lane dual carriageway road bridge and rail bridge (considering Metro Rail Provision too.). The proposed development initiatives will not just give rise to additional traffic movement but also accentuate the need for greater economic integration of Mumbai with the mainland. MMRDA is the nodal agency for the development of MTHL and all other stakeholders/beneficiaries like CIDCO, JNPT, NMMC, MCGM etc. are to play their respective roles in the development of the MTHL project.
It would be the longest sea bridge in India
Phase I :- A six lane main bridge will be built from Sewri to Nhava Sheva including approaches at grade near Sewri end, interchange at NH4B near Chirle village and underpasses at road and railway crossings. The length of MTHL road project from Sewri to NH4B is 22 km.
Phase II:- Dispersal System at Sewri connecting Eastern Freeway and Acharya Donde Marg to MTHL (Sewri interchange).

Total length - 25 KM Begins at BARC Junction Sion and stretches up to Kalamboli Junction Panvel Currently operation with 4 lanes on each side ; Construction work in progress for extension of 4 lane to 6 lanes on each side ,Expected to complete in 2 years
6. RAILWAYS Existing Railway station of Panvel will be soon converted in to a Junction. The railway is putting lines from Darave station to Uran via Ulwe. The work for tracks and stations in full speed. It will be operational from 2015.
7. EASTERN FREEWAY CORRIDOR Eastern Freeway is a controlled-access freeway, in Mumbai, that connects Fort in South Mumbai to the Eastern Express Highway (EEH) at Ghatkopar
