The White House Blog
• On March 10, 2011, President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama hosted the White House Conference on Bullying Prevention to bring together students, parents, educators, policymakers, non-profit leaders, and administration officials to address the challenges posed by bullying, to highlight successful efforts of those who are taking action, and to send the message we must all work together to make our schools and communities safe for all students.
• Last fall several tragic suicides linked to bullying caught the nation’s attention and focused it on what has been a longstanding and pervasive problem in our schools. . . including launching a new web site today, stopbullying.gov. But with the President’s involvement today, we are sending the strongest message we can that all of us need to do more. (…The President and First Lady released a special video message).

The Olweus Bullying Prevention Program has received recognition from a number of organizations committed to preventing school violence. The program has been named:
•Blueprints Model Program, Center for the Study and Prevention of Violence, University of Colorado at Boulder•Effective Program, Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention, U.S. Department of Justice•Level 2 Program, U.S. Department of Education ("Level 2" programs have been scientifically demonstrated to prevent delinquency or reduce risk and enhance protection for delinquency and other child and youth problems using either an experimental or quasi-experimental research design with a comparison group.
The OBPP has recently been endorsed in the American Academy of Pediatrics Policy Statement.
The Stop Bullying Now Web site is here to help you stop bullying in your school and community. Here you can learn about:•What works to stop bullying- and what doesn't, and•Trainings and training materials
We can prevent bullying when:•Teachers and administrators set consistent limits on bullying behavior, build positive staff-student relationships, support targets of bullying, and help bullies change.•Parents support targets of bullying and help bullies change. Parents of bullies can build a balance of structure and emotional support, and hold young people responsible for their actions;•and when youth find ways to bring peaceful peer pressure to bear on bullies; tell adults what they see; and reach out to targets of bullying.

• National Mix It Up at Lunch Day will be held October 18, 2011.• Teaching Tolerance's Mix It Up program is a national campaign that
helps K-12 teachers develop inclusive school communities.• Students thrive—socially and academically—in schools that are
inclusive. Yet, for far too many students, schools are hotbeds of exclusion. Social scientists have long maintained that contact between diverse groups helps alleviate tensions and reduce prejudice. Mix It Up seeks to break down the barriers between students and improve intergroup relations so there are fewer misunderstandings that can lead to conflicts, bullying and harassment.
• Join the national movement. Register your school for Mix It Up today!

Campus Impact began in 1999 as a result of the major bullying issues that transpired around our nation. The program began with a couple of people concerned and passionate about helping youth and has evolved from a one day program where students came to our facility to presenters visiting students once a month. Classroom sized presentations are the cornerstone of the program.
This change provided consistency and valuable life-changing experiences for students nine times out of the year. As a result they experienced amazing results and improvement in school climates.
