Hi Everyone!

My name is Maggie Wilson and I am your Circle K President this year. I am a sophomore from Char-

lottesville, VA studying a degree in Marketing. My favorite part about Circle K is definitely working with a group of college students dedicated to making a difference in our community. CKI has allowed me to

continue my involvement in the K-Family. I was in Key Club all four years of high school and am ex-cited to serve on the executive board of CKI. My

goal this year is to raise awareness of our club on campus. With close to 30 members in the beginning of November I am sure we can do just that. I am looking forward to getting to know each and every one of you and do not hesitate to reach out to me at any time.

In Service,

Maggie Wilson

Hey Everyone!

We hope everyone is finding as much success this semester as Circle K is! The

achievements our club have made this semester alone are incredible. As our membership grows, we look forward to see what new heights are members will bring us

to. The future of our club is in our membership and you all are amazing. We are excited to see what the coming semester has to offer. We would like to thank everyone who has helped with service projects, attended

meetings, and stepped up to join committees. College students are busy and we are thankful you choose to spend a portion of that with Circle K. We wish everyone luck

with finals and hope to see everyone back so we can start the Spring semester with a bang!

In Service,

GMU CKI Executive Board

This October I was given the opportunity to attend a U.S. Fund for

UNICEF Conference in New York City. I was one of about eight CKI members internationally to attend. At the conference we networked with UNICEF clubs around the US and learned from one another. We were able to hear fundraising tips from them as well as ways to

recruit and retain members. The conference was a great opportunity for CKI to learn more about our partnership with UNICEF. Believe in ZERO!

Quotes from FMR: “FMR was a great way to get out of the city and relax with my CKI family. My club was able to bond and

talk about ideas for our club in a relaxed atmosphere. I loved reconnecting with my CKI friends from other colleges and making new friends!” - Maggie Wilson, President

"I had a great time at FMR meeting the amazing people

that make CKI what it is. FMR fostered friendships, and it was really unique getting to see the other clubs/schools. I

can't wait to work with all the people I met at future CKI district events!" -Kaleb Carter, Editor

All of the CKIs in the Capital District got together at FMR to talk about the ways that can make CKI even better. We also go to exchange ideas with other officers

and club members from colleges around the state and district.

Service Projects

On September 7, Circle K members from both George

Mason University and NOVA-Alexandria volunteered at

NVFS's Clock Tower Thrift Shop. One thing we did was

organizing & prepping items that would be put onto the

floor. After the event, everyone ate out at a local

McDonalds. What made this event, our first event of the year, great was

that we got to spend time with both new members and members from

NOVA-Alexandria.

Trick or Treat for UNICEF was a huge success this year! In total

we raised 252.03, saving 140 mothers and their future babies

from maternal and neonatal tetanus. Shout out to everyone

that came out! Special thanks to the

APO pledges that came out to help as

well. We raised awareness of our club,

awareness of the Eliminate Project, and

networked with other organizations on

campus. I would say it was a success!

Yard Fest 2013

George Mason hosted a Yard Fest for students inter-

ested in attending the university next fall. Clubs and

organizations from across campus were invited to set

up booths. Not only did we garner a large amount of

perspective club members, but we also got to

participate in the popcorn-eating and hula hoop

contest.
