What has Changed?

There are now, by default, threeTabs across the top of your Gmail Screen.

Open Rates could plummit!

Messages Go in the Primary Inbox by Default - #1 above


The New Inboxes Tab #1 - The Primary Inbox

Messages From Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn and other go in the Social Medial Inbox - #2 above


The New InboxesTab #2 - The Social Media Inbox

Messages that Google deems to be “Promotions” go in the Promotion Inbox - #3 above (Probably messages with “Unsubscribe” at the bottom)

The Concern is that Email MarketingWill Become MUCH More Difficult.

So How Do We Get Our Emails Seen?

1. Provide enough value that your subscribers WANT to see your emails.

2. TELL Your Subscribers EXACTLY what todo in order to see YOUR emails in theirPrimary Inbox


Right Now There Appear to beThree Ways to Get More Visibility

1. Eliminate the Promotions tab. All “promotions”will go into the Primary Inbox.

2. Drag One of Your Messages to the PrimaryInbox and click on “YES I want all future emailsfrom this address to go into my Primary Inbox”

3. Create a FILTER that puts your emails into the Primary Inbox


Get Your Promotions SeenMethod 1 – Move All Promotions to Primary

Start by Clicking the Plus Sign by the Last Category

Uncheck the Promotions Category (#1) – All Promotion Emails move to the Primary Inbox

Message has Moved and Future Emails Should be OK

Step 1 On the Right Side of the Screen Click the Gear Icon and Click the Settings Option



Step2 - Click on Filters At the Bottom of Screen (Not Shown)

Click on “Add a New Filter”



Have them enter YOUR Email Address

Step 3 - Enter The Email You Send With


Step 3 - #1 Check Categories and Select Personal (#2)It would be nice to get (#3) Not Spam and (#4) Important Finally: Have them Click on “Create Filter” (#5)


Comparing The Three Ways to Get MoreVisibility
