GM John Emms Plays ACES Sevenoaks children in Simul!

GM John Emms kindly took on the children of ACES Sevenoaks

playing them in simultaneous exhibition on Thursday 29th January

and Thursday 5th February 2015. The children fought bravely, but

the fast moving GM emerged victorious winning 27 games and

drawing just the one - against Kiran Shiatis (aged 11). Special

mention must also go to the following: Charlie Metcalfe, Isaac

Handley and Oliver Dobson (for playing strong games), Iris Davies

(winning a rook), William Gough (clever tactic), Marius Kobler

(defending well against a tactic).

A big well done to everyone and many apologies for not having

the camera with us for week one.

A very big thank you to GM John Emms who was particularly

impressed with how well all the children put their chess skills into

practice.
