1. AGREEMENT (Acuerdo, trato): a settlement, especially one that is legally
enforceable; covenant; treaty
2. ASSURER (Asegurador): to make an event certain; ensure
3. AGAINST DELIVERY (Contra entrega): payable immediately when the
merchandise is delivered
4. AGRICULTURAL GOOD (Productoagropecuario): perishables // property without
industrial processing
5. AIR MAIL (Correoaéreo): a system of conveying mail by aircraft
6. BOYCOTTS : The negative output of a product or commodity
7. BACK FREIGHT (Flete de regreso): A payment that is owed to a maritime
shipping company when the transportation of goods extends beyond the contracted
destination port due to circumstances beyond the shipper's control.
8. BACKING (Garantía): support given to a person, cause, or enterprise.
9. BARRIER (Barrera): anything serving to obstruct passage or to maintain separation,
such as a fence or gate
10. BOOKING (Reservamaritima): Customer's concluded arrangement with a goods or
services supplier (carrier, hotel, restaurant, publisher, etc.) representing a completed
sale. Also called reservation or transaction.
11. BAD STOWAGE (Distribucióndefectuosa de la carga): loading of cargo in an
aircraft or ship in a manner that not provides optimum safety for the vessel and the
cargo.
12. CARRIER (Transportista): person, or organization employed to carry goods or
passengers.
13. CARTAGE (Transporteefectuadopormedio de camiones): Charge for transporting
goods for short distances, such as within a commercial area or town.
14. CLEAN ON BOARD (Limpio a bordo): A transport document issued by a carrier to
a shipper based on a dock receipt or provided by a customs broker that proves goods
have been shipped and which has no clause or notation which indicates that the
shipped goods or their packaging were defective or insufficient in number.
15. CONTAINER (Contenedor): Standardized re-sealable transportation box for
unitized freight handling with standardized equipment.
16. CONTAINER SHIP (Barco contenedor): Container ships are cargo ships that carry
all of their load in truck-size intermodal containers, in a technique called
containerization.
17. CRATE (Embalaje de tablas): a rugged box (usually made of wood); used for
shipping
18. CUSTOM (Aduana): habitual patronage, esp of a shop or business // the customers
of a shop or business collectively
19. DUTY FREE (Libre de arancel aduanero): It means you do not pay taxes on the
items, normally you will need to show a ticket for travel on the same day out of the
country where the shop is located.
20. EXPORT (Exportación): commodities (goods or services) sold to a foreign country
21. EXSHIP (Sobre buque): A trade term requiring the seller to deliver goods to a buyer
at an agreed port of arrival. The seller remains responsible for the goods until they
are delivered.
22. FREIGHT POLICY (Póliza de flete): commercial transport that is slower and
cheaper than express // the price charged for such transport
23. HEAVY LIFT (Carga pesada): hard to bear, accomplish, or fulfil: heavy demands //
coarse or broad: a heavy line, heavy features
24. HOLD (Bodega): to hold in trust // save to deposit
25. SHIPER (Flete): to place, transport, or travel on any conveyance, especially aboard
a ship.
