WHAT DO FARM ASSURERS DO?
• Facilitate the process of training farmers to meet certifi cation levels
• Register farmers in the GLOBALG.A.P. Database and collect registration fees
• Provide technical resources and consultation to growers to aid in their achieving GLOBALG.A.P. Standards
• Connect farmers with GLOBALG.A.P. approved certifi cation bodies
• Assist farmers with access to markets
Farm Assurers do not, however, conduct GLOBALG.A.P. Cer-tifi cations or issue GLOBALG.A.P. Certifi cates. Farm Assurers primarily train and consult farmers to reach GLOBALG.A.P. certifi cation levels, and provide technical resources to farmers

GLOBALG.A.P. has established the GLOBALG.A.P. Farm Assurer Program where interested par-ties can sign-up as Farm Assurers to consult and support producers throughout the certifi cation process and manage their master data in the GLOBALG.A.P. Database.

via their direct connection to the GLOBALG.A.P. team. Farm Assurers may also choose to perform non-accredited PFA as-sessments based on market demand.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS FOR FARM ASSURERS?
DEEPENED FARM ASSURANCE KNOWLEDGE Annual workshops for Farm Assurers and one-on-one train-ings organized by GLOBALG.A.P. as part of the Farm Assurer Program will support stakeholders to become more effective advisors in the farming community. Through the Farm Assurer program, stakeholder organizations can advance the depth, quality, and assurance of producer farm certifi cation while helping farmers gain market access that would otherwise be diffi cult to obtain.
INCREASED PUBLICITYGLOBALG.A.P. actively promotes Farm Assurers. All ap-proved Farm Assurers will be listed on the GLOBALG.A.P. website with their company logo and contact details.
ACCESS TO WORLDWIDE DATABASEFarm Assurers will be registered in the GLOBALG.A.P. Database, where they can easily manage the master data of their clients. GLOBALG.A.P. offers specifi c Database training for Farm Assurers, supporting material, and features on the GLOBALG.A.P. IT platform.

INCREASED LOCAL CAPACITYWorking with a Farm Assurer who has fi rst-hand knowledge about the GLOBALG.A.P. system and latest developments sim-plifi es audit preparation and understanding of the standard. ABILITY TO LINK IN WITH CUSTOMERS THROUGH GLOBALG.A.P. DATABASEWhen given permission, Farm Assurers can directly link producers with selected customers in the supply chain.
INCREASED MARKET POWERFarm Assurers represent groups of producers. This can help producers negotiation better with certifi cation bodies on audit costs or other customers.
ACCESS TO CERTIFICATION CONSULTINGFarm Assurers with their consultant role can help producers to be well prepared for GLOBALG.A.P. certifi cation.
WHO CAN BE A FARM ASSURER?
The Farm Assurer Program can be utilized by a variety of stakeholders in the agricultural supply chain, and the benefi ts vary for each party.
• Consultants: Become a more effective and powerful advisor to the producers you work with
• University Extension Programs: Create effective frameworks that help otherwise disadvantaged produc-ers access high-volume retail and food service markets
• Marketing Boards: Support member producers in achieving farm certifi cation by negotiating favorable
terms with Certifi cation Boards and providing certifi cation training to members
• Packers: Safeguard quality of individual suppliers and ensure traceability of products through GLOBALG.A.P.’s online farm certifi cation database
• Aggregators: Empower suppliers in achieving cost-effi cient third-party audit certifi cation
• Traders: Leverage the GLOBALG.A.P. online farm certifi cation audit database to demonstrate to buyers that products are up to the requisite standard
• Food Hubs: Utilize and build on the existing infra-structure to leverage member positions for increased transparency and responsiveness to market demands
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
Farm Assurers pay a yearly fee of EUR 1.550 (this fee is waived for any GLOBALG.A.P. members). This cost covers your one-on-one Farm Assurer training and set-up in the GLOBALG.A.P. Database.
HOW DO I BECOME A FARM ASSURER?
Contact GLOBALG.A.P. to apply formally and receive a Farm Assurer License Agreement.
We will schedule a one-on-one training to teach you how to use the GLOBALG.A.P. Database as a Farm Assurer.
