    Causes of global warming

    increasing concentrations of greenhousegases

-e.g. CO2,CH4,N2O,CO,SF6 etc. Burning of fossil fuel

    -e.g. coal,oil,petrol,kerosene and natural gas

    Deforestation Depletion of ozone layer

    Effects

Increase in the temperature on the earth

Rise in sea level by at least 25 meters.

Changes in temperature and precipitationpatterns increase the frequency, duration, and intensity of other extreme weatherevents, such as floods, droughts, heat waves, and tornadoes.

    Too much ultra-violet light can

    results in: Skin cancer

    Eye damage such as cataracts

    Immune system damage

Damage to the DNA in various life-forms this has been as observed in Antarctic ice-fish that lack

pigments to shield them from the ultra-violet light (they've

    never needed them before)

Possibly other things too that we don't know about at

    the moment

    Facts

CO2 will need to be reduced from its current385 ppm to at most 350 ppm

Global surface temperature has beenincreased 0.74 0.18 C over the period 1906to 2005.

In 2010, highest avg. temperature has beenrecorded as per reliable sources, i.e. 14.58 C

    Continued

Antarctic, Siberia and other frozen regions ofearth may experience more plant growth andmilder climates.

Less need for energy consumption to warm coldplaces.

Longer growing seasons could mean increasedagricultural production in some local areas.

Mountains increase in height due to meltingglaciers, becoming higher as they reboundagainst the missing weight of the ice.

    Individuals effort

    1. Learn about it

    2. Use more fuel efficient vehicles.

    3. Use efficient appliances, replace light bulbswith low-voltage compact fluorescents

    4. Invite neighbors and schools to cooperate in

    climate cooling actions (e.g.A

    fforestation)

    5. Use public transportation in and between cities.

    6. Increase the use of other fuel sources ethanol,hydrogen,H2O and other bio-fuels.

    7. Use of Lithium-ion, Li-Mh, Lead acid battery

    8. Export new energy technology for efficiency andrenewable energy sources to the rest of theworld.

    9. ....and start doing these things today.

    Efforts amongourselves to

reduce Global warming Switch off the electricity while leaving the

    class room.

Reduce the use of polythene bags. Use of public transportation rather having

    personal vehicles.

Use of CFL instead of tube lights. Use of recycle paper.

    Use of energy saving appliances.
